2005 Dodge Magnum Visibility Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the visibility system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Visibility reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE MAGNUM. THE CONTACT HEARD A POPPING NOISE UNDERNEATH HER FEET ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE TIE ROD AND INSTALLED A NEW TIRE. SHE ALSO STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID NOZZLES AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WERE INOPERABLE. WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE LEFT OR RIGHT, A SQUEALING NOISE WAS HEARD. WHILE DRIVING OVER 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY. WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE WOULD SLAM DOWN AND WAS UNABLE TO ABSORB THE SHOCK OF THE BUMP. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STRUTS AND SHOCKS WERE FINE ON THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY, THE FAILURES STILL PERSIST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 80,000.

2005 DODGE MAGNUM MAKE S A BUZZING NOISE FROM THE TRUNK AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. *TS ***NAR*** THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE INNER PANELING AROUND THE HATCH DOOR WAS NOT CUT PROPERLY. ONE SIDE WAS FLUSH, INSIDE THE GROOVE AND THE OTHER SIDE WAS SLIGHTLY SEPARATED, WHICH CAUSED THE VIBRATION. THE CONSUMER PLACED SMALL PIECES OF CUSHION INSIDE THE OPEN AREAS TO HOLD THE PANEL STEADY. THE FABRIC MOLDING AROUND THE WINDOW WAS SAGGING. THE WINDOW CONTROLS ON THE REAR LEFT SIDE SUNK INTO THE DOOR AND THE WINDOW LOCKED ON ITS OWN. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO HAVE A RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION AND THE DEALER HAD THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE ALL DAY AND FAILED TO INFORM THEM THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO THEIR VEHICLE. *JB

I HAVE A 2005 MAGNUM SXT, THE CAR HAS PULLED TO THE RIGHT SINCE DAY ONE, IT HAS BEEN ALIGNED 2 TIMES NOW. THE 2 FRONT TIRES ARE WEARING BADLY ON THE OUTSIDE, THE DRIVER SIDE IS WORSE THAN THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE REQUESTED THAT CHRYSLER REPLACE THE TIRES AT THIS TIME I HAVE NOT HEARD AN ANSWER ON THAT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE WEAR ON THE TIRES IS NOT DUE TO THE CAR PULLING TO THE RIGHT THAT IT IS A WEAR PROBLEM (I GUESS THE WAY I DRIVE) I DON'T AGREE!! MY CAR HAS ALSO STALLED 3 TIMES WHILE GOING IN REVERSE. MY GAUGE LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS FLASH AND FLICKER EVERY TIME THEY ARE TURNED ON THE DEALER HAS SAID THEY HAVE SEEN IT FLICKER ONE TIME, THEY MUST DRIVE WITH THEIR EYES CLOSED!! SOMETIMES THE BACK WINDOW CAN NOT BE ROLLED UP BY THE DRIVERS CONTROLS. *NM

MAGNUM RT, HAS VEERED TO THE RIGHT SINCE PURCHASED IN AUGUST 2004. BACK REAR LIGHT FULL OF CONDENSATION, APPEARED TO BE A LEAK. DEALER ORDERED A PART, AND I'M STILL AWAITING NOTIFICATION, A MONTH LATER. SUN ROOF WAS UNEVEN, CONCERNED IT MAY RESULT IN FUTURE LEAKS. WAS TOLD THIS WAS NOT ABNORMAL, AND SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DID NOT WORK AT TIMES. WORKS FOR THE DEALER. *AK
