Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

The defect: INNER AND OUTER CARBURETOR THROTTLE RETURN SPRINGS MAY HAVE BEEN MISINSTALLED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN SPRING FAILURE. THIS CAN PREVENT THE THROTTLE FROM RETURNING TO A CLOSED POSITION WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS RELEASED.
The remedy: BOTH THROTTLE RETURN SPRINGS WILL BE REPLACED AND PROPERLY INSTALLED WITHOUT CHARGE.

We are inquiring about Dodge vehicles ability to be hacked and controlled by rogue parties, FBI, government agents in the United States. We have noticed on several occassion. Dodge sedan a) move in manner different from drivers course, drivers intent The manner has dangered driver, passenger and pedastrains. We need schmetics designs on why lincoln designed and built a feature like that. More deliberately, are concerns, that some US FBI agents have found ways to coordinate, attempt, and premeditate murder and manslaugter by using un popular vehicle features. That is unknown to the mass public. The undercover agents unscruplous intent seem to be, to want to, place and blame innocent drivers, by hijacking steering a) guardrails b) pedastrains c) uncomming traffic d) other vehicles We also have issues the design and secret nature of remote vehicle telemetry and manipulation of steering column and CAN BUS and infotainment delay. That said, there has been a spike of guard rail accidents on the 10, 101 and 202 freeways. We have concerns that the everydriver may not be the blame for the suspicous accidents. The questions for Dodge vehicles: What controls are there to prevent abuse? How does dodge vehicles ID the vehicle remote hackers? Why did the hacker get into dodge designs? Has the vulnerabilty been abused more than defined? What type of logging is setup in telemetry and telematics? How is dodge going to correct the problem? We estimate many have been hurt. Emotional damages, psycotic damages, from fbi misuse and abuse of dodge vehicle and vulnerabilities. There needs to be recalls on dodge and other vehicles.

MY 2001 GRAND CHEROKEE IS EXPERIENCING A SEVERE VIBRATION PROBLEMS WHEN BRAKING. I'VE CONTACTED THE NW JEEP DEALERSHIP IN BEAVERTON OREGON AND THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THIS PROBLEM IS NOT TAKEN CARE BY THE JEEP CORPORATION. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN INHERIT DEFECT TO THE CAR SINCE I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM FIXED A YEAR AGO AND NOW THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX THE SAME ISSUE SINCE IT IS NOT UNDER WARANTEE ANY LONGER. I'VE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL JEEP OWNER ON THE SIMILAR VINTAGE VEHICLE AND THEY ARE ALSO HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD FORCE THE JEEP CORPOARTION TO PUT THE VEHICLE AS A RECALL ITEM. *AK
