Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

The defect: DRV Suites (DRV) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Tradition, 2014-2016 Full House, 2006-2016 Elite Suites, and 2013-2016 Estates fifth wheel travel trailers. The affected vehicles have front side reflex reflectors located above the maximum height of 60". As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk: If the reflector is located outside of the required area, it can reduce the visibility of the vehicle by other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: DRV has notified owners and will provide a new reflector to install in the correct location, free of charge. The recall began July 21, 2017. Owners may contact DRV customer service at 1-260-562-3500. DRV's number for this recall is 99.02.05.

DISCOVERED THAT HAD LOST ALL BRAKES ON 2014 DRV 5TH WHEEL TRAILER WHEN EXITING I95 IN NORTH CAROLINA. UPON INVESTIGATION, IDENTIFIED CAUSE BEING A BRAKE LINE HOSE RUBBING ON TIRE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. (WHEN STOPPED , THE HOSE DID NOT MAKE CONTACT THE TIRE). THE STEEL BRAKE WERE MOUNTED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME RAIL AND THE BRAKE LINE HOSE CONNECTION AT CALIPER WAS POSITIONED SO TO CREATE A LOOP NEAR THE TIRE. A REPLACEMENT WHEN EXITING I-95 IN NORTH CAROLINA, DISCOVERED THAT I HAD LOST ALL BRAKES ON 2014 DRV 5TH WHEEL TRAILER. UPON INVESTIGATION, DICOVERED A BRAKE LINE HOSE HAD A RUB-THOUGH FROM RUBBIN ON ADJACENT TIRE, CAUSING A COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID. AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE HOSE WOULD CONTACT THE TIRE. AT STOPPED POSITION THE HOSE WOULD NOT CONTACT THE TIRE. THE STEEL BRAKE LINES WERE MOU TED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME RAIL. THE HOSE CONNECTION AT THE CALIPER WAS POSITIONED SUCH THAT IT CAUSED A LOOP THAT WAS NEAR THE TIRE. A NEW BRAKE LINE HOSE WAS INSTALLED AVOIDING THE PREVIOUS POSITIONING. SUBSEQUENTLY, ALL BRAKE LINES WERE REPLACED/REPOSITIONED INSIDE THE FRAME RAILS. NEW, LONGER, BRAKE LINE HOSES WERE CONNECTED TO NEW BRAKE LINES INSIDE FRAME RAILS. THE NEW, LONGER HOSES ADDRESSED THE FULL AXEL TRAVEL, WHICH THE ORIGINAL HOSES DID NOT.

THE 5TH WHEEL PINBOX IS RIPPING AWAY FROM THE FRAME. NOTICED A LOT OF EXCESSIVE UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT IN THE HITCH WHILE LOWERING WEIGHT OF RV ONTO TRUCK. INSPECTION REVELED THAT THE METAL IS TEARING IN THE AREA I CAN SEE. LIPPERT'S (THE FRAME MANUFACTURE) RESPONSE WAS DUE TO THE AGE (6 YEARS) OF THE RV THEY WOULD DENY FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. DRV HAS NOT ANSWERED MY EMAIL TO THEM.. *TR

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
