The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRAVEL TRAILERS. WOODEN BOARDS WERE MOUNTED BETWEEN THE AXLE BRACKETS AND THE FRAME OF THESE TRAVEL TRAILERS. THE BOARDS COULD DETERIORATE AND/OR COMPRESS SUFFICIENTLY TO ALLOW THE METAL BRACKET OF THE AXLE MOUNT TO PRESS DOWNWARD AGAINST THE BRACKET SIDE MOUNTING BOLTS.
The risk: THIS DOWNWARD CONTACT COULD CREATE A SHEARING FORCE ACROSS THE BOLTS, ALLOWING THE AXLES TO SEPARATE FROM THE TRAVEL TRAILER.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WOOD WITH A STEEL TUBE SECTION.

MY FIRESTONE TIRES, ON MY DUTCHMAN MOTORHOME, KEEP SEPARATING. THIS IS THE SECOND BLOWOUT. THEY ARE STEELTEX RADIAL LT225/75R16, LOAD RANGE E. ONE OF THESE DAYS SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE KILLED OVER THIS. WE BOUGHT ONE TIRE, WHICH I THINK FIRESTONE SHOULD HAVE DONE, AND PUT OUR SPARE ONE THE OTHER ONE.
