The defect: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. The defect: Dutchmen is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Grand Junction; model year 2008-2009 Victory Lane and Winners Circle; model year 2009-2010 N'Tense; model year 2010 Freedom Spirit and model year 2009 Monte Vista recreational trailers. The affected trailers are equipped with Iota ITS-50R transfer switches. Wiring connections inside the transfer switch are not adequate and, as a result, the switch may overheat.
The risk: An overheated switch could result in a fire.
The remedy: Dutchmen will notify owners and replace the Iota transfer switch, free of charge. The safety recall began February 12, 2013. Owners may contact Dutchmen at 1-574-537-0700.

The defect: DUTCHMEN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006-2007 GRAND JUNCTION FIFTH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILERS MANUFACTURED FROM APRIL 27, 2006 THROUGH MAY 2, 2006, AND EQUIPPED WITH LIPPERT AXLES COMPONENTS. THESE VEHICLES MAY CONTAIN MIS-LOCATED WELDS ATTACHING THE AXLE SPINDLE TO THE AXLE TUBE. IF THE WELDS ARE MIS-LOCATED, THE SPINDLE MAY PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM THE AXLE TUBE AND THE WHEEL AND HUB ASSEMBLY MAY COME OFF THE VEHICLE.
The risk: A SEPARATED TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY COULD STRIKE OTHER VEHICLES AND/OR PEDESTRIANS, RISKING INJURY OR DEATH, AND/OR CAUSE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE PROPERTY.
The remedy: DUTCHMEN IS WORKING WITH LIPPERT TO INSPECT AND REPLACE IF AN AXLE IS FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE ON A VEHICLE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2010. IN SHORT, PURCHASED 5TH WHEEL, DEALER SAID ALL TIRES WERE NEW,+ OTHER THINGS. FIRST TRIP OUT ENDED UP WITH 4 BLOWOUTS, REPLACED THEM FILED AN INSURANCE CLAIM NIGHTMARE BEGINS, DEALER INSTALLS TIRE THAT FAIL WITHIN 1YR AND LESS THAN 2000 MILES ON THEN CAUSING ANOTHER CLAIM, DEALER WON'T STAND BEHIND TIRES, I LOOKED UP THE TIRES ON THE INTERNET AND THEY WERE RECALLED AT THAT TIME, THE TIRES WERE PUT ON THE 5TH WHEEL. NOW AT THAT TIME, I FOUND OUT WHO AND WHERE THEY GOT THE TIRES AND I REFUSED THE TIRES BECAUSE OF THE SERVICE I HAD WITH THAT COMPANY, (WENT THROUGH 4 TO 5 SETS OF 4 TIRES WITHIN 1 YEAR) WITH THAT DEALER OF TIRES. THE 5TH WHEEL DEALER SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THAT'S IS THE TIRE COMPANY THEY USE, HENCE , ANOTHER CLAIM ON MY INSURANCE WITHIN 2 YRS, IN THAT 2 YEARS THE DEALER HAS HAD THE 5TH WHEEL AT LEAST IN THERE POSSESSION AT LEAST 8 MONTHS, SO REALITY IS THAT WITHIN 1 YEAR I HAVE HAD 3 CLAIMS ON THAT 5TH WHEEL DUE TO BAD REPAIRS AND BAD TIRES, TIRES HAVE CAUSED ALL THE DAMAGES TO 5TH WHEEL. ALL DAMAGES WERE FROM FLAT TIRES COMING APART ALL ON THE HWY. AT NORMAL SPEEDS. I HAVE FILES AND LETTERS THAT I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM FOR A YEAR NOW.
