The defect: E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Cyclone 2, Typhoon N, 2021- 2024 Cyclone N, and 2021 Quest 2 vehicles. The engine crossmember may break, allowing the cooling fan to contact the fan shroud and become damaged.
The risk: A damaged cooling fan can result in an engine stall while driving and increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the crossmember as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 26, 2024. Owners may contact E-One Customer Service at 1-352-237-1122.

The risk: The incorrectly machined bracket may cause a reduction in hydraulic force, requiring greater steering effort and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering assist bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 7, 2024. Owners may contact E-One customer service at 1-352-237-1122.

The defect: E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling certain 2021-2023 ARFF, Cyclone N, 2020-2024 Commercial, 2020, 2022-2023 Cyclone 2, 2023 Cyclone E, 2022 Typhoon, and 2020-2023 Typhoon N vehicles. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware in the vehicle multiplex system may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits.
The risk: Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire.
The remedy: The equipment manufacturer, Weldon, will update the firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 24, 2024. Owners may contact E-One customer service at 1-352-237-1122.

The defect: E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Cyclone 2, Cyclone N, and Typhoon N vehicles. The transmission cooler may be insufficiently welded, which can result in engine coolant contaminating the transmission fluid.
The risk: Contaminated transmission fluid may cause transmission failure and a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the transmission cooler and fluids, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 11, 2023. Owners may contact E-ONE customer service at 1-352-237-1122.

The defect: E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Cyclone N and Typhoon N vehicles. The electronic sensor for the aerial device may fail and not display accurate data on the angle of inclination.
The risk: Without accurate display data, the aerial device may inadvertently contact the cab and increase the risk of injury to the operator.
The remedy: Dealers will update the electronic sensor software, or install a new electronic sensor, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 11, 2023. Owners may contact E-One customer service at 1-352-237-1122.

NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
