The defect: Elgin Sweeper Company is recalling certain 2024-2026 Pelican vehicles equipped with Samsung SDI high voltage battery packs. The high voltage batteries may fail.
The risk: The defective batteries may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will install battery monitoring software, free of charge. The remedy for this recall is currently under development. The Elgin Sweeper Company has not yet provided a schedule for owner notification. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Safety recall

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
