Our database holds 3 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2008 Fleetwood Discovery. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FLEETWOOD DISCOVERY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, HE NOTICED A BURNING SMELL AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE ELECTRICAL DIMMER SWITCH. THERE THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V192000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE 2008 MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,200. *TR
I RECEIVED A "FLEETWOOD OWNERS RECALL #90209 FROM FLEETWOOD, POB 1007, DECATUR, INDIANA. I CALLED TODAY AT 800-509-3418 TO OBTAIN APPROVAL FOR REPAIR AT A FACILITY. I WAS INFORMED BY NEIL AT THAT PHONE THAT "DUE TO THE FLEETWOOD BANKRUPTCY THE NEW OWNERS WILL NOT HONOR ANY SAFETY RECALLS AND I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU OBTAIN AND PAY FOR THIS SERVICE YOURSELF." ACCORDING TO THE BANKRUPTCY FLEETWOOD WAS TO HONOR WARRANTY WORK, I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT IMPROPER MANUFACTURING PROCEDURES ARE INDEED WARRANTY WORK. *TR
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
