What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2005 Fleetwood Providence, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FLEETWOOD PROVIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE WINDOWS IN THE VEHICLE BECAME COVERED WITH FOG WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE WINDOWS WERE DUAL PANE AND THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE MOISTURE TRAPPED BETWEEN THE PANES CAUSED THE FOG TO APPEAR. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED THE WINDOWS HAD GONE OUT OF BUSINESS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.
ALL THE STATIONAY WINDOWS ARE "FOGGING UP" IN MY 2005 FLEETWOOD MOTOR HOME. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW I CAN HARDLY SEE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR THROUGH THE GLASS. BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE OUTER VEHICLE. MY CONCERN IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW IS A SAFETY CONCERN.. I CALLED FLEETWOOD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE NOT DEALING WITH SEGI WINDOWS ANYMORE.. AND NO RECALL TO FIX ANY WINDOWS.. *TR

THE WINDSHIELD ON MY RECENTLY PURCHASED 2005 FLEETWOOD PROVIDENCE MOTORHOME HAS A LEAK ABOVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE LEAK WITH CAULKING BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE DEALER WOULD NOT CONSIDER THIS A WARRANTY REPAIR, SO I PAID. THE GLASS REPAIRMAN WHO ATTEMPTED THE FIX SAID HE WOULD CREDIT ME THE MONEY SPENT. BUT, HE SAID THE WINDSHIELD WOULD HAVE TO COME OUT IN ORDER TO MAKE THE REPAIR AND TO KEEP THE INTEGRITY OF THE WINDSHIELD SYSTEM. HE EXPLAINED THAT IT IS A SAFETY FEATURE OF THE MOTORHOME. APPARENTLY, THE WINDSHIELD IS INSTALLED IN A METAL FRAME USING AN EXTREMELY STRONG ADHESIVE. THE WINDSHIELD SYSTEM IS DESIGNED IN A MANNER TO PROTECT THE OCCUPANTS IN CASE OF ROLLOVER, THAT THE CAB AREA WILL NOT CRUSH IN BECAUSE OF THE WINDSHIELD DESIGN. I HAVE TRACKED DOWN SOME HISTORY OF THE MOTORHOME AND THE UNIT WAS IN THE SHOP TWICE IN 2006 FOR A WINDSHIELD LEAK. CAULKING WAS APPARENTLY USED THEN, INSTEAD OF THE CORRECT METHOD OF REMOVING THE WINDSHIELD. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ON A WARRANTY BASIS. I NEED YOUR HELP IN RESOLVING THIS MATTER. *TR
