What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1997 Fleetwood Terry, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

WHILE DRIVING, THE TRAILER'S BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED. ON INVESTIGATION, THE BRAKE TENSIONERS ON ALL 4 WHEELS HAD FALLEN OUT OF POSITION AND INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE DRUM. THE SPRINGS WERE ALSO IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DRUMS. ONE OF THE BRAKE MAGNETS WAS BOUND UP IN THE WHEEL AND MELTED DOWN. CONSUMER KNOWS OF NEIGHBOR WHO HAS A SIMILAR YEAR AND MODEL WHOSE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND DESTROYED A TIRE DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM. *TT
WHILE TRAVELING AND APPLYING BRAKES VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUE TO TRAVEL. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED, AND NOTICED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SPRING WAS BROKEN. THE BRAKE ADJUSTMENT SPRINGS WERE BROKEN ON ALL 4 WHEELS, CAUSING THE ADJUSTERS TO FALL OUT OF PLACE, AND RESULTING IN BRAKE FAILURE. *AK *ML
