What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2006 Fleetwood Tioga, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

SPARE TIRE MOUNTING BOLTS SHEARED OFF OF A 2006 MODEL YEAR FLEETWOOD CAMPER TRAILER DURING TRANSIT RESULTING IN THE TIRE FALLING OFF THE BACK OF THE TRAILER. THE TRAILER HAD ABOUT 4,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE MOUNTING BOLTS WERE NOT CORRODED - THE CAMPER IS STORED INDOORS OTHER THAN DURING VACATION. LUCKILY THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT LOW SPEED WITHIN A NATIONAL PARK RATHER THAN ON A HIGHWAY. THE TIRE WAS NOT RECOVERED - REPORTED TO NPS OFFICE (RAINER NP). REPORTED TO FLEETWOOD ON 8/24/07 - THEY INFORMED ME TO CONTACT MY DEALER. CONTACTED HILLTOP TRAILER SALES (800-642-2649) SAME DAY. DEALER COMMENTED THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND IDENTICAL INCIDENT REPORTED TO THEM WITHIN A SHORT TIME (WEEKS). BOTH INCIDENTS INVOLVED FLEETWOOD HIGHLANDER NIAGRA MODELS. THE DEALER IS PLANNING TO REPLACE THE BOLTS AND REIMBURSE FOR THE REPLACEMENT TIRE PURCHASED WHILE TRAVELING. WHILE THIS INCIDENT DID NOT HARM ANYONE, THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH DIFFERENT IF THE TIRE HAD FALLEN OFF WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH OTHER TRAFFIC. *TR
