2026 Ford E-Transit

Recalls, owner-reported complaints, investigations and safety data

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.
0
Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS

Feb 20, 2026
4,381,878 units potentially affected
The defect: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2026 F-150, 2022-2026 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, Maverick, 2024-2026 Ranger, 2023-2026 F-600 SD, 2022-2027 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, and 2026 E-Transit vehicles. When towing a trailer, the integrated trailer module (ITRM) may lose communication with the vehicle, possibly causing a loss of brake and turn signal lights, or a loss of brake function. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, " Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk: Trailer lights or brakes that do not function can reduce the driver’s ability to control the trailer and decrease the trailers visibility to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: The integrated trailer module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 25, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C10. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning March 17, 2026.

The risk: Electrical arcing increases the risk of a fire. In addition, a loss of drive power may occur, which can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the busbar fasteners and replace the busbar if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 13, 2026. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S05. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on February 4, 2026.

Manufacturer communications

A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.

TSB 26-2091

POWER TRAIN

This bulletin supersedes 26-2045. Reason for update: update the labor operation allowances and the service procedure to include the required modules to program for F-150 Powerboost variant. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P2C90 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the software in the PCM.

TSB 26-2060

ENGINE; POWER TRAIN

Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a loss of engine coolant at the heater hose assembly near the engine cooling fan. The vehicle may also have diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P1299 and/or P1285 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to an incorrectly indexed hose connection at the thermostat housing causing contact with the cooling fan.

TSB 26-2045

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Some 2021-2025 F-150, 2022-2025 Expedition/Navigator, 2023-2025 F-Super Duty, 2024-2025 Ranger and 2026 Transit vehicles may exhibit a discharged battery and/or a no crank/no start condition. The vehicle may also exhibit a clicking noise from the trailer module (TRM) while the vehicle is off. This may be due to software in the TRM.<br /><br /> Verify the TRM software part number in the vehicle using Ford diagnosis and repair system (FDRS) to be PC3T-19J297-BF, PC3T-19J297-FF, ML3T-19J297-CD or ML3T-19J297-GD. To confirm a vehicle is equipped with a certain software level, review the software information by hovering over the "Diagnostics" tab in Professional Technician System (PTS) and selecting "Vehicle Software". If one of the listed software part numbers is present, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TRM. For vehicles with any other software part number in the TRM, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-01 to continue with normal diagnostics outside of this article. For claiming use causal part 19H332 and labor operation 2006D and 2006D45 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Man

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Some 2026 Transit vehicles equipped with power folding mirrors may exhibit mirror housing looseness and/or vibrate while driving. This may be due to the mirrors being manually folded in or out during transportation, going through a car wash or being bumped in a parking lot. Manual movement of the mirrors can disengage the mirror housing from the motor, resulting in excessive movement. Synchronization of the mirrors may be required to resolve the condition. The Power Mirrors Synchronization procedure has been added to the Workshop Manual, Section 501-09 Rear View Mirrors > General Procedures that is referenced in the Diagnosis and Testing section for this condition. Inform the customer that the Power Folding Mirrors Reset procedure is also available in the Exterior Mirrors section of the Owner's Manual.

STRUCTURE:BODY

Some 2026 Transit vehicles may exhibit inoperative front windows and/or windows that will operate only in the upward direction. This may be due to improper alignment between the window glass hole and the window regulator guide bracket. To correct this condition, attempt to lock the window glass back into the window regulator by pushing down on the window glass. An audible click may be heard. If the glass is unable to lock into the window regulator, replacement of the window glass will be necessary. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms > Removal and Installation. For claiming, use causal part 6121410 (Right)/6121411 (Left) and labor operation 23943A14.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
