What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Airbags
Reports naming the air-bag system — deployment behaviour, inflators, sensors and warning lights.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owned a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact had received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000(Air Bags), and the recall was serviced. The contact then stated that while driving at 20 MPH, a city bus crashed into the front end of her vehicle. The contact stated that the air bag deployed upon impact; however, the contact suffered burns to both of her arms and both of her legs. The contact was then taken to the hospital by her son and was treated for her burns. Two of the occupants in the other vehicle were also treated for injuries; one was taken to the hospital for an injury caused by the occupant's seat belt. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and it was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
My question is I’m getting ready to buy a 2007 Ford edge for my mother and she’s already put three water pumps on this car and it cost like almost 1000 bucks to do it every time. I don’t even know if it’s worth it but I was just wondering if there’s any recalls on something like that or if it’s something wrong with why it keeps going keeps messing up
Powertrain (other)
Powertrain reports that are not specifically the engine or transmission — driveshafts, axles, transfer cases and differentials.
From owner reports, verbatim
While driving the air bag symbol and wrench appears on the dash, car starts losing power, and when shifting gears there's a hard shift and clunking noise. Videos on YouTube show many people with the same issue some say it's a sensor issue. Output Shaft speed sensor and turbine speed sensor
# 1. Brakes - There is a known brake issue with these vehicles. The brakes started making a loud hissing noise and we were almost unable to stop the vehicle and ended up in the middle of an intersection. This could have caused an accident and needs to be recalled. There was no warning, messages, or signs before this happened. These are the parts the repair shop and Ford dealership said needed to be replaced: Power Brake Booster, Hydraulic Control Unit, and Master Cylinder. #2 - Transmission - The car began to shake when trying to climb up a small hill and it also started to shake on the interstate. There were no warnings or messages that appeared.

I was dropping off my fiancée to her doctor appointment and while driving to park the car started to smoke profusely. I was unable to tell at first, but I quickly realized that there was a flame spouting from between the front windshield and underneath the hood of the car. I jumped out of the car and grabbed both my [XXX] and [XXX] out of the car and immediately started running towards the office. We weren't even a full 7ft away before the car was fully engulfed by the flames. The fire department came to put it out and it was towed away by our local trucking company where it's currently being held. There were no warning lights before this. My 2007 Ford Edge lost the use of my accelerometer pedal without any warning, while driving. The pedal collapsed to the floor. The engine continued to run. A wrench image appeared on the dashboard. After towing to service station the gas pedal worked again. No codes could be determined during TWO diagnostic procedures. After the first mechanics could not determine or diagnose a problem, nor replicate the problem, I had it towed to my local Ford Dealership. Their diagnosis claimed no indication of an issue on their diagnostic computer either. I’m afraid to drive my car. I AM FRUSTRATED WITH THIS CAR. I HAVE HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND NOTHING BUT ISSUES, I WAS EXPERENCING WHERE I WOULD GO TO START THE CAR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER I COULD SIT AND TRY FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND IT WOULD TURN OVER. I LEARNED IF I POUNDED ON THE DASH IT STARTED. ALSO WHEN I AM DRIVING AT ANY ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD LIGHT UP AND THE SPEDOMETER AND RPMS STOP WORKING AND THE COMPUTER PART STATES NO DATA. SOME TIMES IT STAYS ON FOR A WHILE SOME TIMES IT GOES OFF IMMEDIATELY, ANOTHER REMEMDY IS I WILL LIGHTLY TAB THE DASH AND THE LIGHTS COME BACK ON. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE A TRANSMISSION WAS JUST PUT IN AND NOW NOT EVEN A YEAR LATER IT IS SHIFTING HARD AND DRIVING VERY BAD. FROM LOOKING OVER THE INTERNET THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. wHY ARE THEY NOT PUTTING OUT AN RECALL. SHAME ON FORD FOR THIS ISSUE
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH NEITHER THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON DRIVER DOOR NOR THE PUSH BUTTON ON MY KEY FOB. ALL OTHER DOORS WILL LOCK. WHEN MY SON HAS A SEIZURE NEXT TO ME AND I PULL OVER TO ASSIST, I CANNOT GET HIM OUT OF THE DOOR. HE IS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR HIMSELF OF COURSE. WHILE HE IS HAVING A SEIZURE I HAVE TO TRY TO PULL HIM OUT WHILE HE IS HAVING HIS SEIZURE THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO ASSIST HIM. THIS GETS VERY DANGEROUS FOR SEVERAL REASONS. ESPECIALLY WHILE ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME, THE FRONT END OF THE PASSENGER SIDE EMITTED SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED DUE TO THE AIR CONDITIONER PIPES BEING CLOGGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE AIR CONDITION STOP WORKING IN MY CAR. I HAD A NEW COMPRESSOR INSTALLED 2012. THE AIR CONDITION UNIT STILL DOES NOT WORK THEY FLUSHED THE LINE AND RAN DYE TO SEE IF I HAD A LINK AND CHECK THE FANS. NO LINK IN THE LINE. I HAVE HAD MY CAR SERVICED BY DEALERSHIP AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIND OUT WHY THIS OCCURRING. DURING THE DAY THE AIR DOES NOT WORK, THE FAN IS RUNNING AND HOT AIR IS COMING OUT OF THE VENTS. YOU CAN HEAR THE FAN CLICK ON HARD WHEN YOUR IDLING AT A RED LIGHT. IF I ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN, THE AIR WILL APPEAR TO GET COOL. WHEN YOU PICKUP SPEED WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN THE AIR BEGINS TO GET COLD, BUT ONCE I CLOSE THE WINDOWS THE AIR STOPS BECOMING COOL AND HOT AIR BLOWS. IT'S BEEN EXTREMELY HOT AND I CAN HAVE A HEAT STROKE AND I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. I HAVE TO ARRIVE TO WORK AT 7AM WHILE IT'S COOL OUTSIDE AND LEAVE AFTER 7PM WHEN THE SUN BEGINS TO GO DOWN. THIS IS HORRIBLE TO PAY > $30K FOR A VEHICLE AND THE AIR CONDITION DOES NOT WORK. I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN. *JS
