The left rear axle housing due to not enough lubricant. The ford maintenance shop states they can refill the lubricant but it doesn’t last long and will be back in the shop . So I’m having it replaced due to their recommendation which is a $1,835.00 fix. I see there were recalls on 2021 edges but mine wasn’t built in the right time frame apparently and it’s ironic that it is the same exact problem with several 2021 Edges but yet only the ones built in certain months are getting recalled. Makes no sense that if this is hazardous then for safety reasons shouldn’t there be a recall on all of them no matter where or what month they were built. Very disturbing and disappointing. It sure sheds some light on the Ford manufacturing!

The vehicle hesitates, bucks, and surges when accelerating from low speed making it difficult and hazardous merging into traffic and other driving situations. The hesitation, bucking, and surging is getting progressively this happened around 70k miles. The mechanic is saying it needs to be replaced completely for 12k!

The transmission failed causing the car to sputter and stop. My daughter was driving the car at the time and it died while she was waiting for a light to turn green at a major intersection. She had to wait for my husband to come assist her. We had it towed to McCree Ford in Dickinson, TX. They indicated it was the transmission and it would need to be replaced. No indication of any issues prior to this incident. The car was well maintained up until this incident and we were just short of 100,000 miles. Mostly highway miles.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Edge. The contact received notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V124000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to perform the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact was informed that the USB port needed to perform the software update was defective. The dealer did not provide the alternative option included in the recall remedy, which authorized an over-the-air (OTA) software update free of charge. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The “fix” for the rear camera has not resolved the issue. My rear camera worked for a short time after the fix was downloaded, but then stopped working. I don’t know what to do to fix it.

I bought a 2021 Ford Edge SEL in April 2024. I had problems with the car jurking at low speeds pretty much the whole time I had it. I just recently had to replace my transmission due to the whole thing failing. It just randomly went out while driving.

My 2021 Ford Edge is experiencing a severe transmission defect. When accelerating between 22 mph and 35 mph, the vehicle hesitates, stumbles, and shudders violently (transmission shudder). The transmission struggles to engage gears properly, causing unexpected jerking and a sudden loss of acceleration power. This behavior creates a dangerous driving hazard when merging into traffic or changing lanes. This issue is consistent with Ford's Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 21-2092) regarding the 8F35 8-speed automatic transmission.

When driving at lower speeds the car jerks/misses. A local Ford dealership confirmed it's the torque converter. Even purchased a warranty that is suppose to cover the issue and even they are being difficult about wanting to fix it!

There should be a recall on the sunvisors. Because it is a safety issue, because when the Sun is in your face and you can't see driving it can very well cause an accident or getting a ticket for not being able to see your speed that you're going, because you're so far up trying to get the Sun out of your face. You can't see any of the controls or your dashboard.. That is a safety hazard. My driver's side one is broken. I can't use it at all and I'm not paying $200 to get it fixed. That's insane on top of that.My passenger side is one is starting to break as well. Also, my car is very sluggish. When i'm driving, it is sluggish back and forth like it doesn't get good acceleration.There should be a recall for that.As well. I've also noticed when I'm stopped at a light, and I slowly let off the brake the car start to jump.

Transmission has gone out after only having the vehicle for 2.5 years. It will cost $10,000 to repair and that is not feasible or right. The mileage is at 74,000 but the warranty expired at 60,000. Ford should be held accountable for building these vehicles with awful transmissions.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions and making a turn, there was an abnormal clicking sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact added that her husband did donuts continuously and observed the sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the sound in the rear axle was coming from the left rear differential. The mechanic stated that the rear differential fluid had been leaking oil for a while and that the rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with Manufacturer Recall: 21S02. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was shuddering, and the transmission was slipping while driving approximately 0-50 MPH. No warning lights were illuminated. The transmission fluid was flushed and refilled every 20,000 miles. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. My 2021 Ford Edge has experienced ongoing transmission issues for an extended period including delayed engagement into Reverse, flashing gear indicator lights before Reverse engagement, harsh/jumpy shifting during acceleration and deceleration, and intermittent shuddering. The vehicle previously required a torque converter replacement performed by a Ford dealership, however the symptoms continued after the repair. Today, while driving on the highway, the vehicle experienced repeated loss of power and hesitation while attempting to accelerate and maintain speed. During one highway merge, the vehicle failed to respond normally while accelerating and I was nearly struck by a semi-truck because I could not safely match traffic speed. Shortly afterward, while exiting the highway, the vehicle suddenly jolted violently and began making loud grinding noises accompanied by severe shuddering. The transmission/drivetrain appeared to fail completely, making the vehicle unsafe to continue operating. I stopped driving immediately and had the vehicle towed to the same Ford dealership that previously replaced the torque converter. I am submitting this complaint because the transmission failure created a serious safety hazard involving loss of propulsion at highway speeds, unsafe merging conditions, and risk of collision.

Transmission has gone out with just over 100,000 and will cost $8,000+ to fix! Vehicle is binding/jerking when trying to drive. Online comments appear to indicate Ford is aware of an issue with this vehicle, seems it was not manufactured properly to begin with and consumers were taken advantage of and left in tough circumstances when it fails.

Purchase this vehicle at 30,000 miles have problems with it since day one with the ABS rear brake dragging I've done had two ABS control modules replaced the ABS control pump the torque converter because the brakes are tearing the torque converter out of it from all the strain. It does it intermittently. All of the repairs have been done through Ford they had to replace the when the brake rotors the calipers brake pads because of how hot the brake system is getting. The brakes will start dragging which will heat up the brake system and they will start putting herself in a bind. Four don't know what's causing it they said they think it could be an electrical issue that's causing the ABS control module to go hay wire and I wasn't getting any codes at all. Except once and it's in Walt's communication that aBS control module a. This problem is going to get myself or my family or your family killed on the roads

My vehicle was recalled by the manufacturer for possibly defective intake valves. The manufacturer did a destructive test on the valves, This test consisted of running the car at 4500 rpm (approximately 120 mph) for a period of approximately 50 minutes. Since this test my car has undergone 3 transmission repairs. Any of these conditions could have resulted in being stranded on the road or possibly losing control of the vehicle, The test only makes the assumption that if the valves did not fail during the test they will continue to provide adequate and safe service. This is not necessarily true. The valves may fail on the highway causing loss of control, I believe that my vehicle was damaged by this test. My vehicle has a little over 30, 000 miles and had no damage before this test. The manufacturer should make this good on the intake valves by replacing them on the 90,000+ vehicles subject to this recall.
