I bought my 2022 ford edge (AWD Titanium) last year and not too long after that I experienced transmission shudder. I recently spoke with a technician about this and he had mentioned that other ford edges are having the same issue as mine to the point that ford has issued a TSB on this subject. I'm sure i don't need to state the danger of the possibility of my transmission going out on the road.
Shuddering and jerking from 20-40 mph. Dealer reports torque converter and planetary gear problems requiring expensive repairs or replacement of the transmission.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed, however the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The vehicle jerked, and the transmission independently shifted into park(P). In addition, an unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a failed transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
My 2022 Ford Edge Titanium (equipped with the 8F35 transmission) is exhibiting severe shuddering, jerking, harsh shifting, lurching, and hesitation. I just received the $8,500 cost estimate to rebuild the transmission on my car that is only 3 years old due to the torque converter failure. These faulty Ford Motor Co transmissions are on back-order due to so many failures across the country. This high out-of-pocket repair cost count is HALF of the money I still currently owe on this vehicle. It is available for inspection if someone comes to inspect it within the next couple of weeks because I have no choice but to have it repaired. I am a nurse who has a job to get to on a daily basis. It causes severe shuddering, harsh shifting, and sudden loss of power when I am traveling and trying to accelerate in traffic or cross dangerous intersections. It has been thoroughly inspected by a certified transmission mechanic who is very well versed on this same particular issue with all of these particular Ford Edge transmissions that enter his shop on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Their were no warning lamps, messages, and no other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The issues first starting appearing around a year after purchasing the car, so probably around XXX. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the infotainment screen went black, and the contact was unable to access the heat, A/C, or the radio. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the driver's side seat warmer independently activated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and a mechanic from the dealer arrived at the residence. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that a software update was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

My torque converter is malfunctioning, there are no warning lights, and my car only started driving differently very recently in the past couple of weeks. According to the Ford mechanic my car has been throwing error codes since early May. The dealership was able to confirm that this happens, and that my torque converter needs to be replaced. My car is only four years old and only has 75,000 miles on it. Ford refuses to do anything to help with this almost $8000 repair. They also issued a recall for the backup camera, update was pushed to my car that was supposed to correct it, my backup camera now goes black frequently when I am reversing.
The motorized track assembly separated from the moonroof interior sunshade on my 2022 Ford Edge, leaving the sunshade drooping down in the passenger compartment. While my vehicle is just out of the standard bumper to bumper warranty period, I feel Ford Motor Company should issue a repair recall to all affected owners to fix this issue.
The vehicle jerks while changing from 1st to 2nd shaking the engine. I have had 2 transmission flushes which help for a moment then it behave the same way jerking while shifting gears. The vehicle asks like it does not want accelerate at times while shifting gears as well
When in drive , going in to park, as soon as you turn dial, it jumps to park, so no neutral or reverse capability. And pops a code of Shift system fault.
They did an update and my back up camera stoped working

The vehicle experiences a noticeable shaking, shuddering, or vibration during acceleration. The condition is most noticeable when applying throttle and attempting to accelerate from lower speeds. The vibration diminishes or disappears once the vehicle reaches higher speeds. The issue occurs while driving under load and may be accompanied by slight fluctuations in engine RPM. The condition can affect vehicle drivability and driver confidence when accelerating into traffic or merging onto roadways. Known issues with the transmission and torque converter exists with the edge line of cars from Ford.

My 2022 Ford Edge (approximately 97,000 miles) experiences a persistent shuddering condition that is most noticeable at speeds below 60 mph. The shudder can be felt through the vehicle and is sometimes perceived as an engine misfire. There are no warning lights or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present. This condition matches exactly the symptoms described in Ford Technical Service Bulletin 25-2154 (Torque Converter Shudder, issued May 5, 2025), which applies to 2019-2022 Ford Edge vehicles equipped with the 8F35 transmission built on or before June 30, 2022. Ford has also issued Customer Satisfaction Program 25L02 related to the Transmission Control Assembly on this same platform. Despite Ford formally acknowledging this issue through both a TSB and a CSP, no repair has been offered to me at no cost, and my vehicle remains unrepaired. I am concerned that Ford's response has been inadequate given the known nature of this defect. I am submitting this complaint to create an official record and to request that NHTSA investigate whether a safety recall is warranted for this known transmission issue affecting 2019-2022 Ford Edge vehicles.
The entire passenger side panel flew off into traffic while driving. It was an entire disaster and I've never seen anything like this before. We're told by the dealerships this has happened before by several vehicles.
On Wednesday May 13th the car started acting a little jerky whence putting car in reverse like normal. There was a thunk sound. But it still shifted. We then drove the car about 10 miles. Then later in the day attempted to drive home. It’s was over-roving while driving. Acting erratic. We pulled into a tire place to see if something was stuck underneath. The check engine light was on and there was an error message saying broken parking brake? They said to have it towed to a Transmission Specilist. To our horror. They are saying it needs a new transmission! A 4 yr old car? This is not normal. It worked fine until now. It would not move out of second or third gear. It nearly crashed.
I am reporting an ongoing and concerning issue with my 2022 Ford Edge. My vehicle has begun hesitating when pressing the accelerator and jerking or skipping, mainly when going from cruising/coasting to accelerating. Some days the issue is worse than others, but it has progressively made the vehicle feel unsafe to drive. At times, it feels as though the vehicle may break down while driving on the interstate in heavy city traffic with my child. After researching this issue, I have found that many other 2022 Ford Edge owners are experiencing the same symptoms, with the torque converter frequently identified as the cause. We had it scanned for codes even though nothing was showing up on the dashboard, and a code of U2107-68 came up, which doesn't make sense. This appears to be a widespread and recurring problem rather than an isolated incident. This behavior is not normal and raises serious concerns regarding drivability, safety, and long-term damage to the transmission. Given how common this issue appears to be among 2022 Ford Edge vehicles, I strongly believe this warrants further investigation and the establishment of a recall. Owners should not be financially responsible for a known and recurring manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Ford address this issue promptly and take responsibility for repairs associated with this problem. My family appreciates your review.
Ford failed to provide me with timely updates regarding recall campaign 26S09 as required by law. They said a remedy would be available by 27 April 2026. That date has now passed and there is still no remedy nor any updates about when a remedy would be available.
Antifreeze intrusion into motor. I was driving on the interstate going 77mph cruise control set. Lost power dropped to 65mph without warning. RPM shot up to 4500. Trouble accelerating. Limped the car home, took to have looked at. Was told need new engine do antifreeze in combustion chamber.
The transmission failed, yes it’s available for inspection. The car stopped while I was driving putting my life at risk to get into a crash with other vehicles. Yes it’s been confirmed by an independent auto shop. It has not been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance. Insurance says it’s not covered so they didn’t give it the time of day to inspect. No warnings that I knew of.
Headlights don’t always align properly,

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
