2021 Ford F-150 Fuel system Problems

I've noticed that the vehicle struggle when acceleration, specially at full stop (stoplight and intersection). Feels like the engine is going to die out if I step on gas pedal.

The owner replaced the battery, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with a fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that parts were unavailable for the repair. Additionally, the owner was informed that the repair could be paid for out-of-pocket and a request for reimbursement could be made when parts became available. The owner declined to pay out of pocket for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer requested that the vehicle be removed from the dealer lot. The vehicle was towed to an alternative dealer for storage because the vehicle was inoperable. The owner then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and two cases were filed. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

This recall has been going on for over a year. I don't know how long these usually take, but this recall - Manufacturer Recall Number25S75 NHTSA Recall Number25V455 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available My truck runs rough at times which I believe is a direct result from the fuel pump on this recall, and it doesn't give me much confidence on my daily driver truck, especially going on long trips. I don't know if this message carries any weight in the timeline on this recall, but I would really like this fixed soon so I don't have a stall incident with my family in the vehicle.

Fuel Pump Failed. Ford has stopped sale on the Fuel Pump because of recall 25S75. I need a fuel pump to operate my vehicle. Ford has offered no solution. It has been 10+ months since my fuel pump failed. Why is there no urgency? What am I supposed to do? Ford doesn't care, you at NHTSA don't care.

Truck has just started misfiring out of the blue, have had Ford dealerships look at it, have changed all 6 spark plugs and one ignition coil. The recall NHTSA 2025-366 may be the reason, it states there still is no remedy for this, recall was issued 1 year ago, July 2025. I need this remedy.

Good Morning :) This is my second complaint (1st #XXX) as my truck completely shut down as I was leaving the shop around 4:30pm. As I accelerated it shut down in the middle of the street blocking traffic. I was able to start it again, however it shut down a second time as soon I accelerated. NOTE: On XXX I did take my truck into Ford for this issue, however nothing could be done as there was no solution yet. The truck’s fuel system can cut out under acceleration. This is very dangerous. Various times it has nearly stalled out under acceleration while trying to merge. The worst time was driving up a bridge, the truck began to hesitate nearly causing a crash. Every time it signals cylinder misfire, but that whole system has been replaced. Very dangerous, very disappointing.

My check engine light has been on for a few months, I called Sioux Falls Ford to ask about it and they told me it's a minimum $200 out of pocket to even look at it. I asked what would happen if the check engine alert had to do with the active recall that is almost a year old that Ford has made no progress to fix, and they said I could file for reimbursement if they deemed the engine warning had to do with the recall. I took my truck to another garage and they found that the check engine light was indeed caused by the fuel pump running at 52psi - the recommended is 51-85psi for my truck. They said the new part would be in the following week to fix it for $1200. When I relayed all of this information to Ford National they told me they weren't able to help me and they were still investigating. They told me that they also weren't responsible for damage to my truck as my powertrain warranty expires next month. They refused to help in any way or offer a timeline of when I could expect a fix. Ford has left me stuck with no options to prevent a potential crash if this faulty piece makes my truck stall on a highway - I can either pay $1200+ for a part from another garage they are legally supposed to fix, or continue to drive a potentially unsafe vehicle based on Ford's negligence. Sioux Falls Ford and Ford National, based on a year timeline with several calls and text chats with both, are refusing to comply with their legal responsibility to remedy this safety recall.

This is a continuation/escalation of NHTSA complaint 11689917. My 2021 Ford F-150 has experienced repeated fuel-system/electrical fuel-pump failures. The vehicle previously stalled and later cranked but would not start, returning code P0627 “Fuel Pump A Control Circuit / Open.” The in-tank fuel pump was replaced at owner expense for approximately $1,400 at an independent service center in September of 2025, but the repair did not permanently resolve the issue. The vehicle has now again lost fuel pressure/propulsion while traveling approximately 50 mph on a two-lane highway in a similar manner to prior failures. I was able to get the vehicle off the roadway, and it required towing back to my residence. This is approximately the fourth or fifth fuel-related failure, including stalls at low speed and non-start conditions related to fuel in parking lots. The symptoms appear consistent with Ford/NHTSA recall 25V455 / Ford recall 25S75, but my VIN was not included in the affected group. I am concerned that the recall population may be too narrow or that the remedy does not address the full defect pattern.

Brought F150 in for scheduled service - oil change. Also asked for inspection of a problem with the fuel door hatch that was causing "Refuel Error" messages on the instrument panel and several grinding noises every time the fuel release button was pressed. Note that I have an active extended Ford Premiumcare warranty. Dealership diagnosis was that the fuel door solenoid was bad, verified that the gears could be heard grinding with this part. However, there is no separate motor part, therefore the entire fuel door assembly must be replaced. Ford warranty system does not cover this part because it is considered "Body and Structural". I called Ford Protect to discuss this, and explained the motor defect and problem, that this has nothing at all to do with wear & tear or body damage. They explained that in this case, the dealership should call and get the part pre-authorized with the justification. Seelye Ford called and tried to do this on 28 April 2026, but ultimately was still denied by Ford. The attached service report from Seelye describes the technician findings and confirms the bad solenoid and audible gear grinding sound coming from the fuel door assembly - and that the entire assembly must be replaced. As this is related to the fuel system and has a defective motor, this is an example a safety defect that should not only be repaired on this vehicle, but for other vehicles with similar problems. Note that the dealership also pointed out that Ford appears to have created this part layout with the intent of having the motor be a separate part, but ultimately did not offer that option, only a full housing replacement, which is excluded because it is mostly made of plastic and metal, which is considered to be structural in nature, despite being a part of the fuel system that has active motor buttons and instrumentation sensors for driver interaction.

I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding my 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat 5.0L V8, which is included in recall 25V455 (Ford campaign 25S75) involving low-pressure fuel pump failure that may cause engine stall while driving. Ford announced this recall in 2025, acknowledging a potential safety-related defect that can result in loss of propulsion. However, as of April 2026, no repair remedy has been made available for my vehicle. This extended delay leaves owners operating vehicles with a known safety defect and no practical means to correct it. An unexpected engine stall while driving creates a serious hazard, particularly in highway traffic, intersections, merging conditions, or when towing. Owners should not be left indefinitely without a repair after a manufacturer has identified a defect significant enough to warrant a federal recall. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the prolonged delay in remedy availability for recall 25V455 and require timely corrective action, clear owner communication, and appropriate interim measures where necessary. Please also review whether affected owners are receiving adequate notice regarding expected repair timing and risk mitigation steps while awaiting a permanent fix.

I was told they are awaiting parts to be ordered but why did they removed/ clear my existing fuel pump failure notification.

I have been trying to get a recall situated with Ford now for almost a year. They say they have no fix. I am making payments on truck and can’t use it like I should be. Even came out of my own pocket and had ford install a new fuel pump however problem came back. Just not fair I purchased a vehicle from A reputable company and they will not help me at all. Not even a loaner.

I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall on my 2021 Ford F-150 (VIN: [XXX] ), Recall 25S75 / NHTSA 25V455, issued July 2025. As of today, April 10, 2026, no remedy is available and Ford has not provided a firm commitment beyond a verbal statement from a customer service representative. I contacted Ford in writing via certified mail (delivered March 27, 2026) and by email. Ford Case Number: [XXX]. I received one email response on March 31, 2026 from Patrice Hargrove, Truck Concern CXS, stating the remedy would not be available until June 2026, that Ford had not advised me to stop driving, and that Ford would not provide a loaner or rental reimbursement. I responded the same day asking for written confirmation of the June 2026 date and confirmation that my correspondence had been documented in my case file. I followed up again on April 6, 2026. I have received no response to either email. My concern is not only the recall itself but the history of this specific vehicle. In October 2022, this truck stalled in the middle of the street while I was driving with my children in the vehicle. It was towed and serviced, with the cause attributed to alternator failure. The failure mode described in Recall 25S75, an engine stall caused by fuel pump failure, is the same experience I have already had with this truck. This vehicle has also undergone a rear axle wiring harness repair in June 2024 and a transmission service under Customer Satisfaction Program 25L02 in December 2025. I have two young children who ride in this vehicle regularly. Ford has acknowledged a safety defect that can cause an engine stall while driving, has provided no interim safety accommodation, and has not responded to my follow-up correspondence in over a week. I am requesting that NHTSA review Ford's handling of this recall and the adequacy of Ford's response to affected owners. While driving my 2021 Ford F-150, the vehicle suddenly began shaking, lost power, and shut off completely while in motion. This created a dangerous situation as I was left without acceleration while driving. Prior to the failure, there were no major issues with the vehicle. After the engine shut off, a battery warning appeared, but the battery had been in good condition and less than a year old. The vehicle would not restart and had to be towed to a Ford dealership, where it has remained for over two weeks. Independent mechanics and the dealership have both indicated the issue is related to the fuel system. I later discovered this matches an active recall for the low-pressure fuel pump. Despite this, I was informed there is currently no remedy available for the recall. The vehicle is still at the dealership and has not been repaired. I have not been provided with a loaner or rental vehicle and have been left without transportation for work or to care for my children. I have also been asked to pay out of pocket for towing and battery replacement, even though the failure appears to be related to a known recall issue.
