When Google rolled out Gemini and forced it as an interface with the Android Auto (SOLD AS A FEATURE BY FORD) it was not ready. It is still not ready. As soon as I experienced the problem with the onscreen and voice navigation integration I looked for a solution. At the time that was a rollback to the older interface, Google Assistant. I was content to just use the older interface, but Google has sent out a push notification informing everybody they are killing Google Assistant September 4th 2026. Gemini AI is still not ready. All you have to do is talk to it to find it often gives wrong results even when exact correct data is available in Google's own database. The case that broke me was trying to drive to a business location I had never been to before. Its local and I am familiar with the road layout of the area, but enroute Gemini AI kept trying to get me to go to a wrong location on a block where the street address can not exist. I have seen Google maps be wrong before, and I have seen address look ups be wrong before. This was different. It was willfully wrong. Google maps and all other lookup tools where correct. Gemini AI was taking me to a wrong location, and even when told to double check the actual data from Google Maps, or the actual data from the company's own website it insisted on taking me to the wrong location. I tried a huge array of methods to get it unbroken down to letting it know when I arrived at the correct location, that it was wrong, and it needed to correct its process. It actively argued with me. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN when your choices are to not use the navigation system at all, deal with a flakey AI that CAUSES distracted driving, or pull over along a busy roadway and manually enter everything on your cell phone with your thumbs. IT IS DANGEROUS to the point I have investigated alternatives, but Gemini is making inroads into Apple/Carplay as well. It's a real problem.

While driving, multiple warning lights illuminate simultaneously — ABS, brake, and all driver assist/safety systems — and the drive mode drops to Standard Locked. During these events the anti-lock braking, stability control, traction control, and trailer sway control systems appear to go offline. I have photographs of the illuminated warnings. My own OBD-II scan on 7/9/26 recorded U0121 (lost communication with ABS module), U0415 (invalid data from ABS module), U3035 (communication authentication failure), and U1012. The dealer's own scan confirmed multiple stored "lost communication with ABS module" codes in module history. The vehicle has a documented history of water intrusion from the sunroof drains, which the dealer was unable to reproduce or repair; water tracked to the windshield/mirror electronics and into the dash. On 7/13/26 the dealer reprogrammed the ABS module with a software update but performed no physical inspection of the wiring, connectors, or modules for water damage or corrosion. The condition is intermittent and unresolved.

The dealer had attempted to repair the recall 26C10 on my truck that tows daily. The team has attempted to fix this problem with 3 service visits and performed multiple software flashes for Recall 26C10 which have failed to fix the safety defect. The trailer module hardware is bricked. Now I’m being told the module is on national back order and they are unsure what to do next.ñ, if this is even the fix. This is a serious safety issue that makes my truck useless for towing which is a major part of our regular use.

Crash reported

The vehicle looses the display screen and or the camera screen while driving forward and reverse at times. It also freezes up and glitches which then makes the reverse camera not in real-time causing a minor accident. The screen sometimes turns black and sometimes blue. Secondly the trailer towing lights don't work properly and say that the trailer disconnected or not working properly. We tow or move many vessels at work and it is not the trailers. It is the truck. I am sure I saw a recall ref the trailer plug but now it shows that there are no open recalls or issues. Again that is another safety issue. I have a ford bronco that had a reverse camera and display issue and it has a active recall on it. This f250 experiences the same issues. I don't know why it is not recalled

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-250 SD. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH on the highway, the steering wheel failed to turn as intended. Due to the failure, the vehicle struck a curb. There were no injuries or property damage. The vehicle was turned off, and it was shifted into park(P). The brakes were inoperable during the failure. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be inspected, and it was determined that a bolt was missing from the steering wheel assembly. The missing bolt was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000. The VIN was not available.

LT275/65R20 126/123R M+S Bridgestone Dueler A/T Without warning the tread explosively separated at normal highway speed of 70 MPH while driving straight in the morning with an approximate outdoor temperature 75 degrees or less. The truck immediately and uncontrollably swerved into the left passing lane nearly causing vehicle to turn completely sideways. Gained control of vehicle and pulled to side of the road. The tire tread had separated but the tire still retained air pressure making it possible to slow safely into road curb lane. Extensive truck damage occurred to fender, wheel well internal to engine compartment and the front bumper. Amazing that it ruined the front bumper. The tires were recently rotated and inspected by Discount Tire. There were no warnings, symptoms, messages or indications of any kind that the tire was defective. These tires will be replaced today. Fortunately I was not killed in this extreme failure.

The backup camera has a VERY elongated view so that what is seen on the screen is extremely stretched out and is almost unusable. I have owned many of these vehicles over the years and the cameras provided a good enough view that you could use it for backing up, as it should be. The current camera makes things behind you look very far away and things next to you look like you're going to hit them when you're actually several feet away (4'-6').

The truck will shut off a short period of time after starting and often won't restart. It displays a message stating "Vehicle may not start/restart. Service now". Sometimes this message will pop up even without the vehicle shutting off. This has occurred in park, drive, and reverse. My wife was backing out of a parking spot when the vehicle shut off, leaving her in the middle of the parking lot unable to restart the vehicle. It was already at a dealer once for repairs and they claimed to have performed the work called out on a service bulletin. The issues have persisted even after these repairs. The vehicle is now back to the dealer to see if they can figure out what is going on.

Vehicle: 2024 Ford F-250 Component: STRUCTURE – SUNROOF/MOONROOF Summary: While driving at highway speed (~75 mph) on I-75, the twin-panel moonroof suddenly exploded outward with a loud bang. All glass was expelled upward/outward; no glass fell into the cabin or onto the sunshade. No vehicles nearby, no overpasses, no impact evidence on paint/roof, no strike point visible on remaining glass edges. Vehicle has a documented history of three prior dealership repairs/adjustments for leaks and alignment issues with the sunroof assembly at Sam Galloway Ford. Ford has denied warranty coverage twice, citing "radiating cracks" and claiming tempered glass cannot explode outward without external influence, despite zero physical evidence of impact and despite the prior misalignment repairs being a known cause of stress fractures in tempered glass. This is a serious safety defect — the explosive failure at highway speed created a sudden open roof and loud detonation that could have caused loss of vehicle control.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel inadvertently turned the vehicle to the right. Additionally, there was play in the steering wheel. Due to the failure, the contact was pulled over by police for DUI. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who performed an alignment, but the failure persisted, and the vehicle began pulling to the left while driving. The contact was made aware by the Ford App that there were two repair work orders for electrical and steering failures prior to purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Lorenzo Ford (30725 South Federal Highway, Homestead, FL 33030), for a second alignment and transmission reprogramming after a battery replacement, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who performed a third alignment, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken back to Lorenzo Ford (30725 South Federal Highway, Homestead, FL 33030); however, no diagnostic trouble codes were retrieved, and dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 28.

2024 F250 Super Crew Cab, Single Rear Wheel, King Ranch. While driving on clearly marked highway, Lane Centering immediately begins to "Ping=Pong" or oscillate between clearly marked highway center and shoulder lanes markings. It is not a slow oscillation and if allowed to go unchecked for more than 2-3 complete side to side oscillations will go out of the lines and onto the shoulder. I haven't actually timed the oscillations but I estimate about 4-9 seconds from engaging the system to completion of one oscillation cycle (from center of lane to the left or right line, then over to the other, and back to center). I understand that this is not a "self-driving" feature, but the best thing about this feature is the ability to turn it off. It is a safety hazard, especially if it is engaged near a roadway edge and immediately overcorrects. I looked on multiple internet forums to see if this was an isolated incident and was disappointed to see that it seems to be a fairly common issue. I was surprised to not find anything on the NHTSA website.

My vehicle instrument cluster is glitching and blacking out occasionally. I saw NHTSA recall campaign number: 25V-540 which is for 2025 vehicles but mine is a 2024. Maybe this recall should be expanded to 2024 models as well. It has been happening since I had the vehicle and has been reported to the shop twice. The last time I went they offered to reload the software but I need to get that done when I am free.

What Happened: My 2024 Ford F-250 developed a coolant leak. The coolant lines run along the frame, and when I brought it to the dealership, they said the bent lines and leak were caused by “road debris” and refused warranty coverage. They claimed mud on the undercarriage meant I was off-roading. I only drive on normal gravel roads, and the truck had been parked for around three weeks before the leak appeared after a short drive around town. I did not hit anything. The placement of the coolant lines may make them vulnerable to minor debris in normal driving conditions. Dealer Experience: I also experienced dismissive treatment by the service advisor. When I arrived and said my pickup was leaking antifreeze, the advisor said, “Are you sure it’s not water?” The tone felt dismissive and made me feel like I wasn’t being taken seriously. Safety Concern: A coolant line damaged under normal driving conditions could lead to overheating and engine failure without warning. If these lines are routed in a location easily struck by road debris, this could be a design vulnerability. Outcome: I left the dealer due to lack of confidence in their diagnosis and had the repair done elsewhere. The other shop documented the bent line and leak. I want this recorded in case other owners report similar issues.

The trucks electronic system is all messed up. The temperature for Fahrenheit shows at time to be 142,165 which we know is not correct. Then while driving the dash displays a message that truck is going to shut off and it does while we are are still driving. Dash will display that we have a trailer hitched on when we do not. Many different alerts show up on the dash while in drive mode. We bought the truck brand new and it barely even has 18,000 miles on it.

Slight vibration at highway speed accompanied by faint grinding noise. Ford installed front auto locker to only one front wheel and a dummy full time locker to right front wheel in non trimmer 2024 f250 and f350s. They know the problem because they issued a tsb 52423 but do not contact truck owners of issue. Having only one locker makes the right side front axel spin at highway speeds and cause noise, vibration and unequal drag on the two front wheels causing the vehicle to drift to the right. Ford knows this, as evident by them going back to two locking auto hubs on 2025 models. My bigger concern is what happens in 100k k miles when the front differential being warn out by the highway speeds fails and locks up the front differential and suddenly locks the front right wheel and potentially sends the 7000 lb vehicle in an uncontrollable right turn. I am currently working with walker Ford to correct this issue with my truck. In my opion, this is a huge safety issue because Ford is aware of this problem but is not notifying owners of the issue with an official recall. Needed fix, replace right dummy locker hub with functional hub like the left side ( part number HC3Z3B396A $260), instal replacement volume line (part number HC3Z3C124B $51) if said truck does not already have one, and finally install 6 in vacume line (part number HC323C125C $6) to the front right hub. In my opion, Ford should be held fully liable for the human safety implications down the road if they continue to ignore this proplem.

I purchased my new 2024 Ford F250 on [XXX] with less than 30 miles on the odometer. It includes a 10-speed automatic transmission. I have noticed erratic up shifting and down shifting of the transmission. The problem started at approximately 700 miles on the vehicle. Additionally I have noticed that after initial starting the vehicle, when placed into drive or reverse, the transmission appears to slam into gear as noticed by a large jerk and loud sound. The vehicle continues to sound like there is a mismatch between the engine revving up and transmission lagging behind for some time, or as if the transmission is slipping gears. The new vehicle was taken into the dealership on 6/9/2025 at 7:00AM and work was reportedly completed and vehicle ready for pickup on [XXX]. I was informed that the service technician performed a break-in procedure and that everything was okay. Within 30 minutes of picking up the vehicle the same problem started reoccurring. I called my service advisor (Michael Garcia) the follow day, [XXX] to report the same issue. I spoke with the service agent and was not able to get a loaner vehicle until 6/28/2025. At this point the vehicle has less that 3,000 miles on it. I dropped off the vehicle at 7:00 AM on the 24th for repair. Today is the 7th of July, 2025, and I am still waiting for the dealership to give me the status. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-250 SD. The contact stated that the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) system failed to operate as needed while towing heavy loads. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with 7,500 miles DEF which was considered full. The contact stated that after traveling for approximately 200 miles, there was a message that there were only 500 miles before DEF was empty. The contact notified a local dealer about the issue, and the DEF tank and sensor were replaced. After the parts were replaced, the system indicated that the DEF system was full at 2,750 miles instead of 7,500 miles. The contact notified the dealer of the issue and was informed that the system would return to the 7500 miles of DEF; however, the system failed to reset. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of issue and a case was filed. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
