2024 Ford F-350 Sd Electrical Problems

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that the power windows independently rolled down while the vehicle was parked, causing water to enter the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and performed an unknown remote software update; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the power window master switch replacement was recommended. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving and towing a trailer, the message "Trailer Not Connected" was displayed, and the trailer exterior lights and brakes were inoperable intermittently. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V104000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting); and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who performed the recall repair; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the integrated trailer module software update was performed a second time; however, the failure persisted. The contact was informed that the integrated trailer module needed to be replaced at the owner's expense. The contact stated that the recall repair failed to fix the vehicle. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the failures, but the manufacturer denied assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-350. The contact stated that after reversing into the driveway and parking the vehicle, the engine was turned off while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The contact exited the vehicle and entered the residence. Moments later, the vehicle erroneously rolled down the driveway downhill and collided with a building on the property. The contacted stated that the Automatic Return to Park (P) safety feature failed to engage, causing the incident. The vehicle was later driven to the local dealer for repairs. I own the 2024 f350 dually truck and regularly tow heavy trailers for commercial transport under DOT regulations. I have experienced repeated intermittent failures involving the truck’s trailer brake and trailer lighting system. While towing, the truck intermittently displays warning messages on the dashboard such as “Trailer Brake Module Fault” and “Trailer Light Module Fault.” When this occurs, the trailer’s right rear brake light stops functioning, and at times the trailer braking system stops working entirely. This issue occurs sporadically and without warning. The trailer may function normally at the start of a trip and then lose lighting or braking capability during operation. One notable pattern is that when I shut the truck off and restart it, the faults clear and the trailer brakes and lights begin working again. This suggests the issue may be related to the truck’s trailer brake or trailer lighting control module resetting rather than a defect in the trailer itself. Because of the repeated failures, I inspected and repaired my trailer multiple times. I have: Replaced the affected trailer light Inspected and checked all trailer wiring and connectors Verified the trailer braking system and wiring integrity Despite these steps, the problem continues to occur. I have taken the truck to a Ford dealership multiple times, and they have stated the issue is with the trailer. However, the trailer has been inspected and repaired, and the problem still persists. I recently became aware of a recall affecting Ford trucks related to the trailer brake control module and trailer lighting system, which appears to mirror the exact symptoms I am experiencing. This issue presents a serious safety hazard. Our passenger side heated mirror is melting. We are unsure as to the plastics used and why it is melting. This mirror is also a heated mirror with electric connected to it. The Ford Dealer told us that Ford will not repair this under warranty. Why is this melting. What type of cheap plastic did they use. Please help us getting to the bottom of this. Thank you.

Fan Clutch Failure at 34,000 Miles, new clutch installed, fan clutch failure again at 47,000 miles. Causes unpredictable accelerations, delayed reaction and poor driveability. Ford did not honor warranty for first fan clutch as when they could service it, the truck was over 36,000 miles. No warning lights or other indicators, extreme engine noise when driving.

Driver and passenger traveling on [XXX] when white smoke came out of dash. Turned onto [XXX] and stopped. Driver and passenger exited truck and opened hood as smoke was becoming more visible and fire started from under dash. Passenger called 911while Driver used fire extinguisher and attempted unsuccessfully to put out flames as they kept restarting. As the flames increased they heard "popping and banging" noised coming from the truck so they retreated to a safe distance and waited for the fire department. After purchasing our Ford F350 in October 2024, on [XXX], the truck did not start. The starter appeared to work, but the engine would not turn over. An error message appeared about the fuel gauge on [XXX], but then disappeared by [XXX]. The fuel gauge stopped registering fuel in the tank. Fortunately, the non-starting issue occurred locally and the truck had to be towed to a local Ford dealer. Upon inspection by a Ford dealer service department, it appears as though rodents have chewed through the soy-based polymer used for electrical wiring. It is currently at Ford City in Urbana, Illinois and the dealer is taking photos of the damage. This will likely cost several thousand dollars to repair. My [XXX] daughter uses this truck to pull a horse and trailer to horse shows often several hours away. The engine failure would have put her and her horse at great risk had it happened on her way home when she stopped for gas or at a rest stop. We will likely have a Geico insurance representative examine the damage as well. However, I don't feel this should be at our expense and affect our insurance rates as it is a "defect" in the design of the Ford F350. Battery failed on the drivers side. The 12 volt outlets quit working except after driving down the road for a while. They all the sudden started working. Went to Auto Zone the battery tested bad. When replacing the batteries the one on the driver side that failed had less weight then the one on the passanger side even tho they were the same battery make and model

When connected to a trailer the instrument panel goes blank. I am unable to se any important information about the truck such as but not limited to coolant temp, oil temp, transmission temp, boost pressure, etc. having driven trucks that pull hard this information is critical. I have researched this issue on the internet and found that I am not the only person having this issue. Ford is aware that they have a problem and indicated that they have resolved it on the 2025 models, but not on the 2024 models. I feel that this is a safety issue and needs to be resolved. Thank you

The contact owns 2024 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that the air recirculation system disengaged intermittently when the A/C was not set to MAX setting. The contact stated that while activating the heat in cold weather, the air recirculation system disengaged intermittently, causing outside air and a strong toxic odor to enter the cabin of the vehicle, causing health concerns. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed, and that the air recirculation system could only remain engaged while the A/C was set to the MAX setting. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 400.
