What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2013 Ford F-350, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Suspension
Reports naming suspension components — springs, struts, shocks, control arms and related hardware.
From owner reports, verbatim
Driving along at 70 mph and just crossed a bridge and met the asphalt when all of a sudden the steering wheel shook violently & almost caused a fatal accident. Tractor trailer & cars swung to avoid me. Went to pull out onto expressway & at 15 mph & the rumble strips along the right shoulder caused it to shake again tremendously. This vehicle has had at least 8 episodes with the death wobble. This vehicle was taken in to a Ford dealership on December 3, 2025 and was supposed to be fixed entirely. Someone is going to be killed until Ford realizes the problem. Please act on this issue. I have reported these incidents three-times to you folks with out hearing back.
Every time I hit a bump it starts to shake and I have to slow way down to stop it. Was told not to drive on highway that it has what they call the death wobble.
Steering
Reports naming the steering system — racks, columns, power-steering assist and steering linkage.

Was driving at 55mph and suddenly truck went into a terrible death wobble & almost caused a serious crash. On 11/25/2025 I had taken it in to the ford dealership to correct this problem since it had happened four times in August & September of this year. Which also almost caused four serious accidents. The ford dealer replaced L & R dragline ends & adjuster sleeve.Replaced right outer tie rod end & replaced track bar ball joint. Performed 3D wheel alignment & road tested on highway..This is the second time I’m writing you to get this recalled.
Engine
Reports naming the engine itself — including stalling, misfires, oil consumption, cooling and internal engine components.
From owner reports, verbatim
Several months ago I noticed a shrill whining noise coming from the engine compartment. Upon closer inspection, I observed raw emissions coming from the exhaust manifold. Upon research I noticed that this was a very common problem with the 6.7 diesel between 2011 and 2014 with Ford even putting out a service bulletin (SSM50330) and designing repair parts and new heads for their defective design of exhaust studs. The repair of this defective part is very costly and they expect the owners of the vehicles to bear the entire cost of this repair. This is not only a safety issue because of exhaust gases entering the cab of the vehicle, but is also an EPA issue because these gases are passing directly to the atmosphere without being treated or going through the catalytic converter!

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21M04. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 78,500.
Fuel system
Reports naming fuel storage or delivery — tanks, pumps, lines, injectors and fuel leaks.
From owner reports, verbatim
My 2013 F-350 Super Duty 6.7 Diesel truck has a problem with the DEF system and power loss. I had a check engine light come on, and an AutoZone scan shows a P20BA Power Train System and a few other codes were noted (see attached documents). I took it to my selling dealer, and they confirmed the Reductant Heater needs to be replaced. I found out there is a recall for this defective part on just about every Ford F-Series 6.7 Diesel "except" my specific year and model. The recall on all of the other F-Series trucks have the same defective part as my truck has. Why is Ford getting away with this. If the part installed in my truck is the same defective part that is being replaced on all of the other trucks, why is my truck not included in the recall, it is the same defective part. It is costing me over $1,700.00 to replace a known to Ford and NTSB, a defective part. I would think Ford should be ordered to include my truck in the recall or replace at cost of parts only and not the full-blown excessive charge I am having to pay. PLEASE HELP
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING FROM A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT WHEN THE TRUCK JUST DIED. SHE PULLED TO THE SIDE THEN SHE CALLED ME. THE TRUCK CRANKED BUT WOULDN'T START SO IT WAS TOWED TO HEALEY /FORD LINCOLN IN GOSHEN, N.Y.. AFTER A WEEK OR SO THEY CALL ME GAVE SOME CODES R/REFUEL SYSTEM, THEY SAID THEY NEEDE MY APPROVAL TO DIAGNOSE IT BUT I DECLINED BECAUSE JUST FOR THAT WAS GOING TO COST ME 300. TO 500.DOLLARS SO I TOWED THE CAR TO BEDROCK AUTO MATBROOK NY

WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE TRUCK HAS EXPERIENCE THE "DEATH WOBBLE". AT FIRST IT STARTED AT NORMAL MICHIGAN HIGHWAY SPEEDS, BUT IT HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT AND MORE REPEATABLE, AND OCCURRING A LOWER SPEEDS. ESSENTIALLY IF YOU HIT A TYPICAL HIGHWAY BUMP THE VEHICLE WILL BEGIN TO SHAKE COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL FORCE YOU TO RAPIDLY DECELERATE OR BRAKE QUICKLY ON A HIGHWAY UNTIL IT STOPS. THIS TRUCK HAS A STOCK SUSPENSION AND ABOUT 150K MILES. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO A SUSPENSION SHOP THEY CANNOT IDENTIFY ANY FAILED COMPONENTS.

The 2013 Ford F-350 Death Wobble. The front end suspension was affected. It occurred on an Interstate freeway at approximately 75 MPH. This is the first time for the vehicle. It has not been to a shop post incident. There were two occupants in the vehicle at the time of incident. There was a section of less smooth pavement at the time the shake started.

I dont have a extended warranty on the truck, No codes popped up on dash, Ford has many complaints with there trucks including the f 150 which i owned and it lived at the shop . over $10,000 out of pocket and problem never fixed always can find issue. something needs to be done before someone gets killed in a accident .
