2015 Ford Fusion Driver assistance Problems

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while reversing, the rear-view camera displayed a brief image, a blue image or a black image with the message " Rearview Camera Unavailable". The contact stated while reversing at an undisclosed speed, the failure recurred, causing the rear-end to strike a pole. The contact sustained a whiplash, and minor neck pain but did not seek medical assistance. The trunk of the vehicle sustained a dent. Upon looking up recall information on the Ford website, the contact became aware that the VIN was included in Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 25N17 (Rear-view Camera Replacement if Required after Dealer Evaluation). The dealer was contacted and scheduled a repair appointment; however, the trunk repair was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was contacted and denied liability for collateral damage. The failure mileage was unknown.

The rear backup camera screen is black or flickers, and sometimes shows an error message like "Camera not available." Ford just issued another recall for rear cameras for this issue, but deliberately excluded Ford Fusion vehicles. They need to include ASAP as this is a known, dangerous issue that can cause an accident.

Brakes, emergency brake, brake switchs. Backup camera turns black while backing up. And yes it’s available for inspection. Car keeps braking and jerking in the other lane by itself. Emergency brake kept coming on by itself randomly. Also I almost hit someone when my back up camera went black. Yes the problem have been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Yes it have been inspected manufactures police and insurance representatives. Yes ever single light came on. Advanctrac light. Brake light, emergency break light, abs light and traction control light and tpms and airbags light.

My 2015 Ford Fusion back over prevention camera system, is no longer working. I only get the black screen with error message "Camera is unavailable. Contact dealership". Which is creating a safety issue, while the vehicle is backing up. Reference Recall Number 25SA9 as many other ford products have the same issue. Many 2015 Ford models are covered under this recall. However, my fusion is not, because the recall only states 2016. My camera was troubleshot by a certified mechanic and was deemed a faulty camera by testing it with a different camera, and the system started working properly again.

In November 2024 my back up camera failed. The dealership diagnosed a failed camera and installed a new one for $ 800. In July 2025 the camera failed again. It was under warranty but the dealer diagnosed the issue as a low power failure and replaced the battery for $ 600. This week the back up camera is beginning to intermittently fail with a message "see dealership for repair". I feel I may have spent $ 1400 for unnecessary repairs as the issue still exists. My Ford Fusion Hybrid is not on the list of Fords covered under the current recall.

When placing the car in reverse the rear backup camera does not show image and will display a black screen or a message the camera is not working and to contact a dealership. Camera worked correctly until Jan 2025. Randomly, the rear backup sensors, while camera shows black screen, will not alert the driver to being object in its path. At other times when the screen is black, the sensor will alert the driver. If you get the "Camera Not Working" message, the rear backup sensors will alert the driver to objects in its path.

the rear backup camera does not work at all.i am elderly and cannot turn my head over my shoulders.the screen is constantly blue when i need to reverse and the message that the camera is malfunctioning is on the blue screen.Ford has a lot of rear camera issues on their late modle vehicles.they have admitted that vehicles going back to when they introduced the rear cameras that they do not work and it seems that the fusions have been forgotten about.THIS IS WRONG WAY TO THINK AND WE NEED A RECALL.I have friends and family that have affected vehicles and we are all complaining.Ford needs to own up to this and they need to do right or we will not be buying Ford anymore.Do Better Ford,lives are at stake.

My first problem is that when i try to accelerate the speed it acts as if it doesn’t want to go above the speed that I’m already going! Also my engine light pops on and off and says it could be a number of things such as my brakes and exhaust. The last problem is that my brake lights will not turn off at all.

Within in the past year I have had to have my entire rear brake system repaired and they keep stating that the emergency park brake is malfunctioning and getting stuck. I have had those parts replaced and now I being told again that the same problem is occurring. I have taken my car to the shop multiple times for brake issue. Brakes smoking and calibers will not release on rear driver side brakes. I took my car to Marmet Tire paid 380 they said it was was brakes and calibers two weeks later same issue I paid 280 for actuator since problem still not fixed. Next I took to Todd Judy Ford they refused to fix the said Marmet tire needs to fix since they had it first. I took it Ba k to Marmet tire they said I needed a brake hose which they replaced and two days later while me any son was driving on [XXX] the brake pedal went to floor while driving so then Marmet tire contacted Todd Judy Ford Patrick street Charleston WV I took the car there and spent 280 for a brake flush two days later brakes grinding and overheating. Called ford corporation they told me to take back to Ford Patrick Street so I called for appointment advised I need an appointment so I can contact ford corporation for a case number and nobody will call me back just emails for over a week saying someone will be contacting me. The OEM back up camera will spontaneously go to a black or blue screen and at times will just say, “back up camera not available”. Being without a back up camera leaves a blind spot where you can’t see small children or pets that are directly behind my car. My car has been losing power and randomly stalling for a while now. Today as I was driving it was happening more and then suddenly my brake pedal became hard as a rock, and the hill assist warning came up. It keeps stalling and will not remain running for longer than 2-3 minutes of being on. This almost caused me to ram several cars due to not being able to stop quickly enough. No lights came on other than check engine and it has not been inspected as this has only happened today. However the stalling of the car has been going on for about 3 months and I’ve been very pregnant and unable to have it looked at. The loss of power in the car happens and sometimes downshift’s extremely hard causing a loud jerk noise from the underside of the vehicle. Once turned off and turned back on it goes right back to normal until it decides to do it again. It can happen a couple of times or it can happen 100 times within a 5 mile period and I never know when it’s going to happen until it’s actually doing it. Extremely dangerous and I’ve seen several 2015 owners posting about issues of the 2015 brake system/bumper etc. I’ve seen recall talk but this site shows no recalls, please get this issue recalled asap!

As I was driving, it felt as if my car had turned off or had no fuel, but no engine lights came on and i had fuel in my tank. Also all my electrical stuff stayed on, only lost power on the accelerator. My safety and others safety was put at risk because there were no warning signs i just had no "Go power" and no one around me knew my car had no power which could lead to an accident, serious injury or death; if on highway traveling at high speeds and it randomly dies. I took my car to a mechanic and they stated everything was perfectly fine they did a full diagnostic and the computer didn't show any errors in operation. This happened 3 times in one day at random times, i could put the car in park and re-start and it ran fine. however i did have to hold the key forward longer for the engine to turn over.

My 2015 Fusion backup camera has been intermittent or non-working for several years. I took it to the dealer who said it would cost $600 to repair, so I have not repaired it. Now I see that they have recalled 2015-2017 Mustangs for the same reason and wonder if my Fusion has the same defect that the Mustangs do.
