2001 Ford Mustang Visibility Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the visibility system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Visibility reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

FORD MOTOR COMPANY REFUSES TO FIX A DEFECT IN THEIR 2001 MUSTANG BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE SAME DEFECT THAT IS OUTLINED IN THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN #14826, NHTSA #619318. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT AND NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. *AK

MY V6 MUSTANG STALLS WHILE IN MOTION CAUSING THE STEERING AND BRAKES TO FREEZE. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES; ONCE AT 30 MPH, 60 MPH, 45 MPH, AND 40 MPH. THE CAR ONLY HAS 4500 MILES ON IT. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A HEATER DISPLAY LIGHT GOING OUT. DEALERSHIP CAN'T IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF EITHER OF THESE PROBLEMS. IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES FOR THE STALLLING AND THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE NOTHING. I HAVE ANXIETY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS IT STALLS OUT AT ANY TIME WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER. VERY, VERY SCARY.*AK
