The defect: Forest River Bus, LLC (Forest River) is recalling certain 2010-2020 Starcraft Prodigy, Quest, and 2013 Rondak school buses. The exterior front roof panel was manufactured with inadequate joint strength. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."
The risk: A school bus roof panel with inadequate joint strength may separate during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy: Dealers will secure the exterior front roof section, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440. Forest River's number for this recall is 05-1782.

STEERING

The power steering pressure line may be inadequately connected to the brake Hydroboost unit, which may result in a leak or sudden loss of power steering fluid. See attachment for further information. Sudden loss of power steering assist and power brake assist increases the risk of a crash. This is in reference to Ford Recall Campaign 24V097.

SERVICE BRAKES

According to Ford Motor Company, on your vehicle, it may be possible for the parking brake to disengage without pressing the release button. If the parking brake is unintentionally disengaged, it could result in the vehicle rolling away, increasing the risk of crash or injury. This is per Fords Recall Campaign 24V143.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEAT BELTS

According to FCA, the driver seat belt buckle may have been built with an incorrect switch sense magnet. Suspect vehicles may incorrectly activate the warning system indicating that the seat belt is unlatched when it is latched. Failure to detect whether an occupant is buckled can impede the seatbelt warning system from deactivating when the belt is properly fastened, potentially leading to reduced seat belt use which can increase the risk of injury in certain crashes. This is for FCA Recall Campaign 24V129.
