The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Wildwood and Salem travel trailers. The Federal Placard may have the incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other than Passenger Cars."
The risk: Referencing the incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will install a new corrected label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 22, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-3167. Forest River's number for this recall 04-2075.

The risk: The incorrect wiring may not make adequate contact, increasing the amperage and risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the wiring and outlet, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 29, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-503-831-5410.

The risk: A tire can be overinflated after referencing the incorrect information, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 29, 2025. The risk: A griddle stowed while the gas is still in use can increase the risk of a fire.

The distribution panel wire may be connected to the battery without over current protection.
The risk: Unprotected wiring can increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will relocate the distribution panel wire to the correct side of the breaker, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-4995. Forest River's number for this recall is 205-1987.

The risk: A door that remains locked can prevent or delay occupants from evacuating during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.
