2013 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL BY MERCEDES. I CALLED THE PHONE NUMBER PROVIDED. MERCEDES GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER FOR MERCEDES BENZ OF SOUTHAMPTON TO REPLACE THE FAULTY AIRBAGS. I PROVIDED THEM WITH VIN NUMBER, THEY CONFIRMED THE RECALL, ORDERED PARTS, AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN WE ARRIVED FOR THE APPOINTMENT (MORE THAN AN HOUR'S DRIVE AWAY) MERCEDES BENZ OF SOUTHAMPTON REFUSED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG BECAUSE THIS IS A FREIGHTLINER VAN. MERCEDES BUILT THE VAN, MERCEDES INITIATED THE RECALL, MERCEDES SENT ME TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY VIN NUMBER. NOW, I STILL HAVE THE DEFECTIVE, DANGEROUS AIRBAGS AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THEM REPLACED.

I WAS DELIVERY FOR DHL FOR 5 HOURS PIER TO THE ACCIDENT. I WAS ON A CITY STREET IN UPPER CHI-CHESTER, PA. WHEN I TRIED TO YIELD AND PREPARE FOR A STOP SIGN. WHEN I WENT TO APPLY THE BREAKS AND ADDED MORE PRESSURE TO THE BREAKS THEY JUST THEN DROPPED THE FLOOR. I THEN TRIED TO PUMP THE BREAKS, STILL NOTHING, NO BREAKS. FROM NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP AT THE STOP SIGN, I WENT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, I HAVE FOUND THAT THESE VEHICLES HAVE ALOT OF BREAK PROBLEMS AND A NUMBER OF REPORTS THAT SHOWN BREAK FAILURE TO THESES TYPES OF DELIVERY VANS.
