2022 Genesis Supreme Fifth Wheel Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

From owner reports, verbatim

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 equipped with a Genesis Supreme trailer attached to the vehicle. The pin box bolted on the front of the trailer is a Lippert Rota-Flex Pin Box. The contact stated that upon pulling into a gas station, the contact discovered that the trailer was sitting on top of the bed of the truck. Upon inspection, the contact discovered several cracks on the pin box; therefore, the contact unbolted the trailer from the vehicle. The contact discovered that the pin box had fractured which could have led to the trailer completely detaching from the vehicle. The contact called various dealers to replace the pin box; after three days, and the contact found a pin box suitable for the trailer and drove to the residence. The Lippert manufacturer was notified of the failure by email and the contact filed a claim and provided pictures of the failure. The contact later received an email that the claim was denied. The hitch was replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
