Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THIS COMPLIANT IS AGAINST GEORGIE BOY MFG. CONSTRUCTION OF MOTOR HOME WITH A UVW OVER 1000 LBS HEAVER THEN THE RATINGS SPECIFIED ON VEHICLE INFORMATION POSTED IN UNIT. THE UNIT 2002 CRUISE AIR. HAS A UVW POSTED @21600 LBS WITH A CCC 2964 LBS. THE ACTUAL UVW WEIGHT 22660 LBS. AFTER SPEAKING WITH GEORGIE BOY ABOUT THE WEIGHT AND THE INFORMATION POSTED THEY STATED THAT THE THE UNIT IS OVER THE UVW DUE TO OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT THAT IS FACTORY INSTALLED. THIS EQUIPMENT INSTALLED ADDED TO THE UVW AS BUILT. GEORGIE BOY FAILED TO INCLUDE THE ADDITIONAL WEIGHT TO THE UVW. THIS WEIGHT REDUCED THE CCC AND ALSO ADDED TO THE FAILURE OF A TIRE DUE TO OVER LOADING. THE SIZE AND CAPACITY TIRE INSTALLED FAIL TO MEET THE LOAD REQUIRMENTS OF THE MOTOR HOME INTENT. THIS RESULTED IN A BLOW OUT ON A REAR TIRE. AFTER REPLACEING FOUR REAR TIRES WITH IDENICAL WEIGHT RATINGS AS MANUFACTURE AS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT AND CONTACTING MICHELIN ONLY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE TO BE OVERLOADING. WHEN THIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITH FACTORY ADDITIONS AND ALTERATIONS THAT INCREACED THE STANDARD UVW THE TIRE SIZE AND RATING WERE NOT TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. ALSO THE ADDITIONAL WEIGHT IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE VEHICLE INFORMATION STICKER POSTED NEAR THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WINDOW.THIS LABEL PROVIDES SPECIFIC WEIGHT IMFORMATION FOR YOUR MOTOR HOME AS A GUIDELINE FOR YOU TO DETERMINE THE LOAD CARRYING CAPABILITIES TO SAFELY OPERATE YOUR MOTOR HOME. AS STATED IN THEIR OWNERS MANUAL. BY FAILING TO INCLUDE THE ACTUAL WEIGHTS GEORGIE BOY'S CERTIFICATIONS OF CONSTRUCTION ARE MISLEADING AND FAIL TO MEET REQUIREMENTS OF ANSI CODE A119.2 FOR QUALITY AND SAFTEY. THIS UNIT SHOULD HAVE HAD A TIRE RATED AT 5070LBS MAX TIRE LOAD [ DUAL] AND NOT 4410LBS MAX TIRE LOAD. THE INCRESE IN WEIGHT EXCEEDS THE THE TIRE RATINGS WHEN THE CCC IS LESS THEN THE DESIGNED OF 26,350 BEFORE ADDING ANY WATER TO THE FRESH WATER TANK @ 108GAL . MICHELIN STATES THAT RATINGS DUE TO MANUFACTURES FAILING TO EQUIP THEM WITH THE PROPER SIZE TIRES. *NM
