TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1991 GM JIMMY. WHILE DRIVING IN A 35 MPH ZONE THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER WAS INJURED AND TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THIS WAS THE SECOND CRASH. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE MILEAGE, DATE OF ACCIDENT, OR PURCHASE DATE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT WAS NOT AWARE OF RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 99V193000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17200.*AK
AFTER DRIVING 55MPH WOULD APPLY BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW DOWN RIGHT AWAY. WOULD NEED TO PUMP BRAKES 3 OR 4 TIMES BEFORE BRAKES CAUGHT ON. PROBLEM WAS CONSISTENT AND GETTING WORSE. HAD CONTACTED DEALER.*AK

STUCK IN MUD: RAN CAR AT HIGH THROTTLE, TURNED CAR OFF, TRIED TO RESTART. CAR CAUGHT FIRE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE HAD A SUDDEN ACCELERATION, CONSUMER HAD TO STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP VEHICLE. SOMETIMES WHEN THAT DOESN'T WORK, CONSUMER HAS TO SHIFT TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL/STEP ON THE BRAKES, AT THE SAME TIME DRIVE OFF THE ROAD, AND SHUT ENGINE OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. SPARE TIRE MOUNT SWINGS AWAY FROM TAILGATE AND WOULD DROP DOWN. WHENEVER A BUMP OR CRACK IS HIT, MOUNT WOULD COME OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. SPARE TIRE ON TAILGATE WOULD BE IN TRAFFIC ONCE IT SWINGS OUTWARD.
