Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1994 GMC K2500, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.
Each component in detail
What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Brakes
Reports naming service brakes, the antilock braking system, brake hoses, master cylinders or the parking brake.
From owner reports, verbatim
WHILE TRAVELING AND WHEN MAKING A TURN, CLIP AND RING THAT HELD BRAKE PEDAL TO BRAKE ROD FELL OFF, CAUSING TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKES, CONSUMER FAILED TO MAKE THE CORNER, AND HIT A 5 TON FLATBED TRUCK.*AK
THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SOMETIMES WON'T WORK WHEN ACTIVATED, THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER IT WILL SUDDENLY COME ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN AND IT IS HARD TO SEE. THE DEALER STATED THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL OF THE WIPER CONTROL BOARD. THE BRAKING PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS THAT I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT PADS 5 TIMES AND THE ROTORS 3 TIMES IN 36,000 MILES. THE REAR BRAKES DO NOT SEEM TO BE WORKING AT ALL. FOR SOME REASON THE FRONT BRAKES ARE DOING ALL THE BRAKING WORK AND WORP/CRACK THE ROTORS. THE LAST TIME THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS ONLY LASTED 3000 MILES. THIS TIME I HAD THE DEALER REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES ALSO TO SEE IF THIS HELPS. IT SEAMS LIKE SOMETHING IS KEEPING THE REAR BRAKES FROM FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS.
