The defect: THE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR CONTAINS ELECTRICAL WIRES THAT MAY BE REVERSED. AS A RESULT, THE LAMP WILL BE ACTIVATED WHENEVER THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON, EVEN THOUGH THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT ENGAGED. THIS CONSTITUTES A NON-COMPLIANCE TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 105, "HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEMS". THE STANDARD REQUIRES THAT THE INDICATOR LAMP BE ACTIVATED UPON APPLICATION OF THE PARKING BRAKE.
The remedy: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, CORRECT THE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH WIRING WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

The defect: THE FUEL TANK FUSIBLE BUSHING ELEMENT MAY HAVE MELTED DUE TO EXTREMELY HIGH TEMPERATURES ENCOUNTERED WHEN THE TANKS WERE EXPOSED TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT RAYS DURING CHASSIS STORAGE.
The remedy: THE DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE FUEL TANK VENT PLUG WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

The remedy: THE DEALER WILL INSTALL THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WARNING PLATE WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

Safety recall
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Safety investigation
NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
