1989 GMC Pickup Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1989 GMC Pickup, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

IHAVE FOUR FIRESTONE FIREHAWK R4S TIRES SIZE 30X9.50R15. AMOUNT OF MILES ON TIRES EQUALS 32,748;TREAD DEPTH EQUALS 8/32. THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAS FAILED. IT HAS A LARGE BULGE IN THE TREAD. THE TIRE DID NOT BLOW OUT BECAUSE I CAUGHT IT IN TIME. AT THIS TIME, THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, BUT I AM AFRAID OF THE TIRES. I WILL SAVE THE TIRE ON RIM FOR INSPECTION IF NEEDED. I THINK I SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO COMPENSATION EVEN THOUGH THIS SIZE AND MODEL IS NOT ON RECALL LIST.( DOT NUMBER: VD664RA132 TIRE SIZE: 30X9.50R15 )
