Owner-reported complaints naming the airbag system, filed with NHTSA
Data refreshed
Airbags reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

In these vehicles between two thousand and five and two thousand and seven are constantly, such as my vehicle, low oil pressure and lower rod bearing failure constant is which what I have and due to wiring cruise control becomes no good because of computer failure. I cannot afford to fix the lower rod bearings and notice that you have already a recall for trucks, twenty twenty one and up.But this problem has been ongoing from gm since twenty twenty five or more. I also took my vehicle in for an airbag recall. And after that, I still have an airbag light on after they fix the airbag recall.0

WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE STABILITRAK OFF LIGHT FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD, INCLUDING THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF. THIS HAS SHUT DOWN MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY SEVERAL TIMES SINCE 2016. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WOULD RESET ITSELF AND THE CODES WOULD GO AWAY TEMPORARILY. THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND CABLES. I HAD TO GET TOWED OFF THE HIGHWAY AS THIS HAPPENS SO RANDOMLY. THE REPAIR SHOP SAYS THAT IT IS A MYSTERY TO THEM AS THEY HAVE CALLED THEIR GMC SPECIALTY TECHNICIANS FOR ADVICE. FINALLY, I WENT ONLINE AND STARTED A FORUM TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THESE ISSUES THAT NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIX. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE SEVERAL SIMILAR STORIES 'CAR FORUMS/ GMC/ GMC ENVOY XL". I AM SURPRISED THIS IS NOT A RECALL AND SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY. CHANGED SENSORS ON TIRES THAT WEREN'T THE ISSUE SINCE THE INDICATOR LIGHT STILL COMES ON. I HAVE PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF THE INDICATOR LIGHTS FLASHING AND THE CAR SHUTTING OFF. I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE MY TRUCK AS SOON AS IT IS TURNED ON ALL OTHE LIGHTS ARE FLASHING STABILITY LINK/ ENGINE/ AIRBAG/ BRAKES. IT IS RIDICULOUS CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CONTACT ME. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ONLY WITH ME BUT SEVERAL OTHER WHO HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG.

THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE TAKATA AIRBAG SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE WHICH EFFECTS THE SYSTEMS ABILITY TO SAFELY DEPLOY. THIS IN TURN LIMITS MY ABILITY TO SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT FEAR OF SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. TO DATE, GM STILL HAS NO PERMANENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. THIS PUTS MORE AND MORE PEOPLE AT RISK ON A DAILY BASIS. GM HAS AN OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE ALL OWNERS A SAFE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. ANYTHING LESS, TO INCLUDE DISREGARDING A SAFETY RECALL, SHOULD BE CONSIDERED NEGLIGENCE ON GMS PART. MOREOVER, THEY HAVE HAD NUMEROUS YEARS TO DEVELOP A TEMPORARY AND/OR PERMANENT FIX AND SO FAR HAVE FAILED TO DO SO. THEREFORE, IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY, I ASK THAT YOU DIRECT GM TO PROVIDE A WAY TO SAFELY ELIMINATE THE THREAT FROM THE TAKATA AIRBAG SYSTEM. *TR
