What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2014 Grand Design Solitude, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GRAND DESIGN SOLITUDE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE SEAL ON THE AXLE SPREAD GREASE ON THE BRAKES AND CAUSED THEM TO MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,300.
HAD AXEL SEALS GO BAD ON ALL 4 WHEELS CAUSING VERY LOOSE RUNNY GREASE TO LEAK PAST AND COAT THE BRAKE DRUMS, SHOES, MAGNET AND ALL OTHER COMPONENTS WITH A LOT OF GREASE CAUSING THE BRAKES TO SLIP AND NOT WORK. THE TRAILER ONLY HAD 1250 MILES ON IT.

ON FRIDAY AUGUST 8TH 2014 WE STOPPED AT GOODYEAR TIRE DEALER IN MOUNT VERNON, WA. AND HAD 4 BRAND NEW GOODYEAR MARATHON TIRES ST235/80R16 TIRES INSTALLED. WE DROVE 30 MILES TO OUR RV RESORT AND PULLED IN TO OUR CAMPSITE. NOTICED THAT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS VERY LOW. BACKED INTO OUR SITE AND GOT SETTLED IN. THE NEXT MORNING I CHECKED THE TIRE AGAIN AND NOTICED IT WAS COMPLETELY FLAT ALSO NOTICED THAT THREE OF THE 4 TIRES ARE ALSO FLAT. THESE TIRES ARE BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 30 MILES ON THEM. I'VE CALLED THE DEALER AND REQUESTED THAT THEY COME TO OUR CAMPSITE AS I HAVE NO WAY OF CHANGING THESE TIRES. WAITING FOR THEM TO SHOW UP ON MONDAY AUG. 11TH. *TR
