The defect: ACCELERATOR CONTROL MAY STICK IN A DEPRESSED POSITION WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES ARE AT OR BELOW FREEZING.
The risk: ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN AT GREATER THAN IDLE SPEED WHENOPERATOR REMOVES PRESSURE FROM ACCELERATOR PEDAL, WHICH COULD RESULT IN LOSS OFCONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.
The remedy: REROUTE OR REPLACE ACCELERATOR CABLE WITH A NEW CABLE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 1500. THE VEHICLE HAS GRUMMAN ALLIED LONG LIFE TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FOUR PLY TIRES ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO TOW OR BE USED WITH FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONTACT WENT TO HAVE THE TIRE REPLACED AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS A LIGHT DUTY TIRE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE HAS A CRACK ON THE SIDEWALL, FACING THE RIM. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED, BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE TIRE SIZE AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,926 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,885.
