The defect: THE WIRE USED TO POWER THE ELECTRONIC MEMORY ON A RADIO INSTALLED IN THE REAR OF THE MOTORHOME WAS INCORRECTLY ROUTED DIRECTLY TO THE HOT SIDE OF THE BATTERY DISCONNECT SOLENOID, AND HAS NO FUSE PROTECTION.
The risk: THE UNFUSED ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CAN OVERLOAD AND OVERHEAT,RESULTING IN A FIRE OF THE ELECTRICAL INSULATING MATERIAL AND POSSIBLY SPREADINGFIRE AND NOXIOUS FUMES THROUGH THE INTERIOR OF THE MOTORHOME.
The remedy: INSTALL A FUSE AND FUSE HOLDER TO PROPERLY PROTECT THE CIRCUIT.
