2004 Harley-Davidson Fxdi Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL*- THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL FOR 2004 HARLEY DAVIDSON SUPER GLIDE FXDI CONCERNING THE THROTTLE CABLE TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE TOOK THE MOTORCYCLE TO DEALER ON 12/27/06, AND WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE GAS TANK OR GAS CABLE. PRESENTLY, THE DEALERSHIP HAS THE MOTORCYCLE, AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEEDED AUTHORIZATION FROM HARLEY TO GET THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAS CALLED THE MANUFACTURE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALERSHIP DID CALL HIM 01/09/06, AND TOLD HIM TO COME PICK UP THE MOTORCYCLE, BECAUSE ITS WILL TAKE 8 WEEKS BEFORE THE PART CAME IN. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE COULD RIDE THE MOTORCYCLE, BUT WAS INITIALLY TOLD THAT HE SHOULD NOT RIDE HIS BIKE UNTIL THE RECALLED PARTS WERE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WILL NOT BE PICKING HIS BIKE UP BECAUSE HE KNOWS THIS BIKE IN NOT SAFE TO RIDE. UPDATED 02/22/07. *JB
