What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2007 Harley-Davidson Fxstc, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXSTC. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT DOWNSHIFTED TO FIFTH GEAR AND THE THROTTLE REMAINED OPEN. THE DEALER STATED THAT A TAMPER-PROOF SCREW LOOSENED AND FELL OFF, WHICH CAUSED THE THROTTLE TO REMAIN OPEN. THE DEALER IS CURRENTLY REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2,850.

From owner reports, verbatim
WHILE CROSSING RR TRACKS WITH RIDER ON BACK OF 2007 HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE AT APP 10 MPH THE REAR SHOCK BROKE CAUSING TAG BRACKET TO COME IN CONTACT WITH REAR TIRE. THE DEALER IS IN PROCESS OF REPAIRING PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THIS HAPPENS AT HIGHER RATE OF SPEED THE BRACKET COULD CAUSE REAR TIRE TO BLOW OUT OR BRACKET BREAK OFF CAUSING REAR FENDER TO COME IN CONTACT WITH REAR TIRE. *NM

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
