2007 Harley-Davidson Fxstc Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXSTC. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT DOWNSHIFTED TO FIFTH GEAR AND THE THROTTLE REMAINED OPEN. THE DEALER STATED THAT A TAMPER-PROOF SCREW LOOSENED AND FELL OFF, WHICH CAUSED THE THROTTLE TO REMAIN OPEN. THE DEALER IS CURRENTLY REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2,850.

WHILE CROSSING RR TRACKS WITH RIDER ON BACK OF 2007 HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE AT APP 10 MPH THE REAR SHOCK BROKE CAUSING TAG BRACKET TO COME IN CONTACT WITH REAR TIRE. THE DEALER IS IN PROCESS OF REPAIRING PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THIS HAPPENS AT HIGHER RATE OF SPEED THE BRACKET COULD CAUSE REAR TIRE TO BLOW OUT OR BRACKET BREAK OFF CAUSING REAR FENDER TO COME IN CONTACT WITH REAR TIRE. *NM
