TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HARNEY COACH RENEGADE RV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE TWELVE TIMES AND HAD NUMEROUS REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT RELATIVELY LOW UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THEY FAILED TO ENGAGE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO PROCEED THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION. HE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL GEAR AND UTILIZED THE JAKE BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE GEAR OIL, WIRE TIE, HUBCAPS, BRAKE PADS, AXLE SEALS, ABS SENSOR KIT, BRAKE FLUID AND THE FRONT CALIPER KIT NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT REVIEWED NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 02V278000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS) AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER (MONACO). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT MONACO WAS UNDER LIQUIDATION AND WAS PURCHASED BY A NEW COMPANY WHO STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT LIABLE FOR MONACO'S ASSETS AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000. UPDATED 08/27/2010.*LJ THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED.
