The defect: Harbor Freight Tools (Harbor Freight) is recalling certain model year 2006-2016 Haul Master trailers, model numbers 90154, 42708, 90153, 66771, 42709, 94564 trailers, and 2013-2016 Haul Master trailers, model numbers 62170, 62209, 61730, and 69897. The affected trailers may be equipped with incorrectly positioned rear lamp brackets that may not illuminate the license plate. The lights fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk: The trailers may be less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
The remedy: Harbor Freight will notify owners and will provide them with a new tail light package, free of charge. The recall began on October 10, 2016. Owners may contact Harbor Freight customer service at 1-805-388-1000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HAUL MASTER SUPER DUTY TRAILER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V638000 (TIRES); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. HARBOR FREIGHTS IN SIERRA VISTA, ARIZONA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

*** CYBERBAHN NOTE - NEED MORE INFORMATION ON GLOBAL FACTORY PRODUCTS TRUCKS *** TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HAUL MASTER TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V638000 (TIRES) WAS RECEIVED IN NOVEMBER OF 2017. THE CONTACT STATED THE PROCESS HARBOR FREIGHT WAS REQUESTING CUSTOMERS TO PERFORM IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE RECALL WAS COSTLY AND FOR MOST CUSTOMERS, NOT ABLE TO BE COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS REQUESTING THE CUSTOMER TO REMOVE THE TIRES OFF THE TRAILER AS WELL AS THE RIM, AND TAKE THE TIRES TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE DEALER WOULD THEN REPLACE THE TIRES BUT IT WOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER TO HAVE THE TIRES ATTACHED TO THE RIM AND THEN PUT BACK ON TO THE TRAILER. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED DUE TO THE PROCESS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED HOWEVER, THERE WAS A WAIT TIME OF OVER AN HOUR AND A LIVE REPRESENTATIVE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE REACHED.
