The defect: CERTAIN MOTORHOMES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NOS. 207, "SEATING SYSTEMS" AND 210, "SEAT BET ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES." THE BOLT AND LOCK NUT CONNECTING THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS TO THE SLIDE TRACK WERE NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT HARDWARE WAS ALSO USED TO SECURE THE SEAT PEDESTAL TO THE FLOOR MOUNTS.
The risk: IN SOME CRASH CONDITIONS, INCORRECT INSTALLATION COULD ALLOW THE DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER SEAT PEDESTAL/FRAME TO BECOME LOOSE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR INJURY TO THE SEAT OCCUPANT.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW BOLT AND LOCK NUT TO THE PEDESTAL MOUNT. OWNER NOTIFICAITON BEGAN JANUARY 21, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MONACO AT 1-877-466-6226.

The defect: ON CERTAIN CLASS C MOTOR HOMES, THE BATTERY CABLE IS ROUTED IN A LOCATION THAT ALLOWS EXPOSURE TO HIGH EXHAUST MANIFOLD TEMPERATURES, WHICH COULD DAMAGE THE CABLES.
The risk: AN ELECTRICAL SHORT COULD OCCUR, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE CABLES FOR DAMAGE AND LOCATION WITHIN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. SHOULD DAMAGE BE PRESENT, THE CABLES WILL BE REPLACED. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 29, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES WITH STANDARD 19" TELEVISIONS. THE MOTOR HOMES MAY NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT MOUNTING HARDWARE TO SECURE THE STANDARD 19" TELEVISION TO THE CABINET PROPERLY.
The risk: UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THE TELEVISION COULD FALL OUT OF THE CABINET, POSSIBLY INJURING AN OCCUPANT.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE ORIGINAL CABINET AND INSTALL A REVISED CABINET ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN OCTOBER 18, 2001. IN JULY 2003 FIRST TIRE ON HOLIDAY RAMBLER 5TH WHEEL TRAILER DEVELOPED SIDEWALL BULGE ON AUGUST 11, 2005 ANOTHER TIRE THREW TREAD ON AUGUST 17, 2005 A THIRD TIRE DEFLATED DUE TO SEPARATION - TREAD NOT THROWN. OF ORIGINAL GOODYEAR WRANGLER HT LT235/85R16 TIRES ON TRAILER, THREE HAVE FAILED TRAILER PURCHASED MAY, 2001. TIRES ALL HAD OVER 1/4" TREAD LEFT AT TIME OF FAILURES. TRAILER HAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES OF TRAVELING SINCE PURCHASE. ALL TIRES HAVE BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND NOT ABUSED.

DAD: 2001 HOLIDAY RAMBLER ENDEAVOR DIESEL. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED WITH DIESEL, IT OVERFLOWED FROM UNDER THE RV. THIS HAPPENED FIVE SIX TIMES AND AGAIN LAST WEEK, THERE WAS NOT MUCH LOST AT THE FILLING STATION. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN HOME,IT WAS STILL LEAKING. THE REPAIR SHOP AT THE FACTORY STATES DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TO BE INSPECTED. *AK
