1998 Holiday Rambler Endeavor Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE GVWR OF THE MOTOR HOME IS GROSSLY INSUFFICIENT FOR THE INTENDED USE. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE IS A DANGER TO MY FAMILY AND OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. THE MOTOR HOME HAS A GVWR OF 19,400 POUNDS. THE FRONT AXLE RATING IS 6,000 POUNDS WITH THE REAR AXLES CARRYING THE BALANCE OF 13,400 POUNDS. THE VEHICLE WAS WEIGHED ON A CERTIFIED SCALE WITH EMPTY HOLDING TANKS, HALF A TANK OF GAS, < TANK OF WATER AND FULL PROPANE. THE FRONT AXLE, WITH A DRIVER, SCALED AT 5,800 POUNDS AND THE REAR WAS 13,120 POUNDS FOR A TOTAL CURB WEIGHT OF 18,920 POUNDS. I HAVE A NET CARRY CAPACITY OF 480 POUNDS. WITH A 200-POUND CAPACITY REMAINING ON THE FRONT AXLE THAT MEANS THAT WHEN I PUT MY FAMILY ON BOARD, THE FRONT AXLE IS SERIOUSLY OVERLOADED. THE ADDITION OF MY WIFE, TWO CHILDREN AND THE FAMILY DOG TAKE THE WEIGHT BEYOND GVWR. NO FOOD AND NO CLOTHING ARE ON BOARD. THE FUEL TANK IS HALF EMPTY. CONSUMERS NEED PROTECTION FROM THIS KIND OF DECEPTION AND/OR FRAUD. MANY LIVES ARE ENDANGERED WHEN THIS KIND OF IRRESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURING IS PERMITTED.
