I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED USED HONDA 8/2018. I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY FOR NOT STARTING AND A POWER FAILURE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION WHERE CARS WE GOING 40 MILES PER HOUR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR THIS BATTERY FAILURE. THEY TOLD ME THE CAR PURCHASE WAS ALMOST A YEAR OLD AND BATTERIES WERE NOT COVERED. I HAVE HAD 3 OIL CHANGES AN HAVE PUT 11,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE SINCE THE PURCHASE AT 34,000 MILES. DURING THE LAST OIL CHANDE THE TIRES WERE ROTATED ON 7/10/2019. I RETURNED BACK WITH THE CAR ON 7/11/2018 TO TELL THEM THE CAR WAS NOT ROLLING SMOOTHLY. I TOOK THE CAR TO DOBBS AND A SECOND TIRE MANUFACTURER AND THEY INFORMED ME THE ROTATED TIRES ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR WERE DRY ROTTED. I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER WITH PAPERWORK FROM DOBBS THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID THE ONLY WAY THEY COULD RECTIFY THE PROBLEM WAS TO SELL ME NEW TIRES. I KNOW THE CAR IS USED BUT, IF IT WAS CERTAINLY CERTIFIED WHY WOULD I HAVE TO REPLACE STANDARD ITEMS WITH 60,000 MILE WARRANTIES SO SOON? ACCORDING TO MY DEALER NOTHING IS COVERED WHEN I MAKE A REQUEST REGARDING VEHICLE SERVICES.

STEERING; STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR

Service news article - To prevent damage during shipping, leather-wrapped steering wheels come with a protective plastic covering. The easiest way to remove it during PDI is to grab the covering with both hands near the top of the steering wheel and pull it toward you, like you see here. The covering comes right off.

DEALER MESSAGE - ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2015, AMERICAN HONDA ANNOUNCED A PRODUCT UPDATE FOR 6,786 ACCORD FHEV VEHICLES TO UPDATE THE HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY CELL MONITORING SYSTEM (CVS). ON SEPTEMBER 17, AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, AMERICAN HONDA DETERMINED THAT THE PRODUCT UPDATE SHOULD BE UPDATED TO A SAFETY RECALL DUE TO CONCERNS THAT A VEHICLE IN THE FAIL-SAFE EV-ONLY MODE MAY STALL IF THE HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY DISCHARGES COMPLETELY.

BASIC PROBLEM THE CVS SOFTWARE MAY NOT BE SUFFICIENTLY TOUGH AGAINST ELECTRICAL NOISE FROM THE INVERTER AND MOTOR CIRCUITS. THIS MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO DEFAULT TO A FAIL-SAFE EV-ONLY MODE, REDUCING POWER OUTPUT."
