STEREO SPEAKERS MAKE A LOUD STATIC UNCONCONTROLLABLE SOUND EVEN WHEN THE STEREO IS OFF. THE SOUND IS DEBILITATING, YOU CANNOT HEAR ANYTHING OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE SUCH AS EMERGENCY VEHICLES. THE STATIC SOUND GETS LOUDER AND LOUDER WHICH CAUSE AN OVERWHELMING FEELING AS YOU CANNOT CONTROL IT UNTIL YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF.
My 2016 Honda Accord Touring has an intermittent failure of multiple Honda Sensing safety systems. The vehicle displays warnings for Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist System. When this occurs, these driver-assistance and collision-avoidance features become unavailable. This is a recurring problem. In August 2023, an authorized Honda dealer diagnosed substantially similar symptoms. The technician documented DTC P2583-87, described on the repair order as “lost comm with the wave radar.” The dealer removed the bumper, tested wiring between the radar and camera, checked radar power and ground, and diagnosed a faulty millimeter-wave radar unit. The Honda dealer replaced the radar assembly with part 36802-T2A-A05 and performed radar aiming/calibration. The repair order states that normal operation was restored. I paid $1,422.08 for the repair and related charges. The problem has now returned and is intermittent. At times all systems work normally; at other times the multiple Honda Sensing warnings appear together and the safety systems become unavailable. I am concerned that a previously replaced and calibrated Honda millimeter-wave radar/safety system has experienced a recurring failure. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue and similar complaints to determine whether a safety-related defect exists.
While driving the vehicle all of the speakers started making a very loud noise and vibrating the entire car. Radio controls wouldn't stop the noise and it was very difficult to focus on driving with the sound so loud. The only way to stop the noise was to pull over and turn car off. Radio controls had no impact. This doesn't happen all the time just randomly. The noise is so loud I'm concerned it could cause a safety concern if another member of my family is driving. I have seen many reports of this being a known issue with model of my car but dealer won't do anything. The ear popping noise occurs with no warning while driving, severely distracting the driver.

A very loud static noise occurs about 5 minutes after I start driving every single day now. The radio is usually not on or either it's very low. Most of the time, this occurs when temperatures are elevated, however, it's starting to happen no matter how warm it is outside. This is very very unsafe because sometimes the sound is so loud that I cannot hear what is going on around me and/or potential issues that might occur while driving the vehicle. No messages or warning lights have come on since this has been happening.
A loud static sound has been sporadically coming out of my 2016 Honda Accord, which startled me and my daughter while driving a couple of times while driving. This sound appears to come out of the speakers; we turn off the stereo system, and the sound continues. It is very dangerous, as the sound is extremely loud; it has happened out of nowhere while driving. This has been happening for a couple of months last time it happened was 8/30 that I could not drive as teh sound was too loud. Please help, as this could cause an accident due to the unexpectedly loud sound, as it distracts and disorients the driver and passengers in the vehicle.
The radio outputs very loud static whether the radio is on or off. The static is so loud that it is difficult to hear emergency vehicles. Yes, dealerships have recreated the noise. There are no warning lights or sounds and seems to happen when the temperature is very hot.
Have had ongoing issues with audio display dashboard crashes. And also AirPlay not working. The are videos all over the in the internet about these issues, including YouTube videos. This is not isolated. The concern is that while driving or using airplay map directions for example the unit disconnects and thus creates distractions while driving. For the last few months I have had an intermittent issue with my 2016 ex-l v6 accord. It started as occasional stalling at traffic lights. The car would stall out, and after about 20 seconds I could turn the car back on, and drive without issues. Sometimes the issue would repeat itself multiple times in a day, and then go weeks without another instance. Then one day I was driving the car and had another stalling event. I had the car towed to the Honda dealership and they were unable to replicate or diagnose the issue. A few weeks later, I had another stalling event. I turned the car back on, and was able to continue driving. I got on to the interstate, and then even though the car was still on, when I push the gas, nothing happened, no acceleration or increase in RPMs. When I pulled over, the car would stall out. I would wait about a minute and turn it back on, and it would be drivable. This happened about four times. Then as I was headed into the tunnel, the car shut off entirely, and I lost power braking completely. I nearly got into an accident with the vehicles in front of me inside the tunnel at highway speeds. This was Father's day, June 21, 2026. I pulled off the interstate, and had the car towed to the dealership again. The dealership was unable to find any issues. The problem happened again today (08/19/26). I was driving the vehicle and was unable to accelerate while pushing the gas, and had multiple stallouts in traffic. I was able to quickly get the vehicle to the dealership, and they finally were to able replicate the issue. They pulled fuel from the fuel line and found it to be much darker than gasoline, with sediment inside. They pulled off the fuel pump and saw that the filter was clogged, but did not fully understand why. The filter is attached directly to the pump itself. The OEM audio/navigation system in my 2016 Honda Accord is emitting extremely loud static from all speakers after 10 minutes of the engine on. This occurs even when the audio system is turned off. It is extremely distracting while driving as there is no way to make it stop. I had the Honda dealership look at it today, they just say it is an internal problem. The internet and YouTube is full of people with the exact same issue, from the same year range of Honda cars. There was no warning, it just started one day.
When the outside temperature rises, even with sun visor coverage, the vehicle starts making a weird screeching high pitch noise. You can unplug the car chargers turn off radio, and it still continues, very daunting and dangerous, unable to hear paramedics siren until visible. Unable to have toddler in vehicle noise is loud, Apple Watch states noise decibel too loud.
The stereo/infotainment system starts making an extremely loud static sound which comes through the speakers. It can be ear piercing at times. Sometimes this triggers the infotainmnet system controls not to work. I have to stop the car, turn off the engine and open the door to hopefully reset the system. This can be extremely dangerous in traffic.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the ABS, traction control, air sensor, hand brake, and a steering wheel with an exclamation mark warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that the battery was replaced to fix the issues; however, several days later the warning lights returned. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V418000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the VIN was not included in the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 138,647.
Vehicle experienced sudden loss of power/stalling while driving due to a failing fuel pump assembly. This mirrors the exact safety risks of NHTSA Recall 19V060000, but my 4-cylinder VIN is currently excluded. It also matches NHSTA recall# 23V-858 derailed L4 2.4L Accords but still my vin is excluded.
The speakers will suddenly blast an extremely loud static noise, even when the radio is turned off. The only way to stop it is to pull over and turn the vehicle off. Eventually, the problem became so severe that even after turning the car off and restarting it, the speakers would continue blasting the static noise. The sound is so loud that it makes it difficult to think clearly and creates a serious distraction while driving, posing a significant safety hazard.
The radio head unit produces a loud unbearable static that is very unsafe because if one needed to hear emergency responders passing by they could not. Yes it has been confirmed by multiple auto shops. No warnings, just loud unbearable static.
The audio system has intermittent static whether the system is on or is off. The volume of the static is very loud and can interfere with the ability of the driver to hear emergency vehicles, police and other important sounds.
Loud static noise from radio. It was so loud it gave us a splitting headache.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a static sound coming from the radio while the radio was on or off. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the dealer was contacted about the failure, and the vehicle was waiting to be diagnosed. The failure was a recurring failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
Static noise comes from all speakers even when the audio is switched off. The intensity or volume of the noise is so high that the driver or passengers inside the car can't hear any sound coming from the engine or outside. How it impacts safety--it distracts the driver; both passengers and driver feel they will lose their hearing ability. It feels like ear drum will break. Yes, I took my car to a Honda dealer for inspection; they confirmed the static noise. They recommended me to replace the current infotainment system with a new one --the total cost would be around $1,500.
My Accord sputters and feels like the engine is choking at low RPM (between 1k & 2k), I started a 3-hour daily commute in the Los Angeles freeway traffic last March. That's when the problem became very prominent. I realized that there's a 2016 Honda Accord recall issued on 1/28/2019 on its fuel system and fuel pump. However, for some reason, when I entered my VIN, it showed zero recalled items. My fear is that on one of these daily commutes, my Accord is going to stop in traffic on the freeway and an eighteen wheeler will hit me from behind and I'll be a goner! I look behind the mirror every time my car sputters... Not a very good feeling at all. Can you please help? I am temporarily at [XXX]. The brake light on the dash will pop up in orange while driving and the steering wheel will turn from left to right at certain times while driving. I am not too close to another vehicle. The air bag indicator light flashes at times. The driver car seat will move forward when I unlock the vehicle at times. The trunk pops open at times after having been securely shut. I have had some work done on it at Lucas Tire and Automotive in Brewton, Al. I have had personal property and money stolen out of it as well as paperwork containing personal information/financial information stolen. It’s created substantial loss from me. On May 19, 2026, I was on the highway driving home and without warning my dash lit up with at least 5 warning lights scaring me to death so that I swerved a bit. I stopped on the shoulder and composed myself. I drove slowly home, thankfully I was not far from home. Took the car next morning to the mechanic and was told that the high pressure fuel pump needed replacement. it cost me $1800 which I had no choice because the car was a hazard to drive anywhere. I have recently learned that there was a recall for my 2016 Honda Accord regarding the fuel pump. I never received any notice whatsoever in regards to this potentially serious road hazard otherwise I would have taken my car for service at a Honda dealership. I would like for Honda to reimburse me for this money that I could not afford to replace the failing fuel pump. My car's mileage is only 65k miles give or take. Thank you kindly.
I am reporting a fuel pump module failure that has caused several drivability and safety concerns with my vehicle. Prior to the failure, the vehicle experienced intermittent difficulty starting, extended cranking before the engine would start, and occasional hesitation during acceleration. At times, the engine would lose power unexpectedly while driving, causing reduced performance and creating a potential safety hazard in traffic. The vehicle also experienced rough idling, sputtering, and instances where the engine stalled without warning. In some situations, the vehicle failed to start altogether despite having sufficient fuel in the tank. These symptoms became progressively worse over time and are consistent with a failing fuel pump module. Due to these issues, the vehicle became unreliable for daily transportation and posed a risk of sudden loss of power while operating on public roads. I am requesting that this failure be covered under the applicable fuel pump recall and that any related repairs and expenses be reimbursed or covered accordingly.
As I’m driving screeching static noise coming from the inside of vehicle whether radio is on or off. Very disturbing. No warning lamps on car drives perfectly . Only problem is the noise which can cause an accident , gives me a migraine every time
