The car was sold to me in 2021 with no airbags and no working seatbelt in the back passenger seat. The car was bought at AX Auto in Atlanta Ga. I have been in touch with them and they keep ignorning me and will not fix this issue.
I was traveling North on Highway 55 in Huntsville, AL when I put the car in sport mode all of the error lights came on immediately. This has happened on several occasions. My passenger seat belt error always comes on. When I call about getting the recall fixed it could never be done because the dealer ships says the parts are not available.
A supplemental restraint warning came on dashboard, I noticed other accord owners are experiencing the same this light has to do with possibly airbags or seatbelts making it possibly unsafe to drive.
My vehicle announced to me it has a Supplemental Restraint System Problem. See your dealer.
My supplemental restraint system problem keeps appearing on my dash at random times, sometimes will go away then sometimes will stay for over a year. I have heard this is ongoing and Honda has not issued a recall.
Drivers seat belt not latching.
While driving, a warning message appeared on the dashboard stating: “Supplemental Restraint System Problem. See Your Dealer.” The airbag warning light also illuminated. This indicates a malfunction within the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which controls airbag deployment and seatbelt pretensioners. At this time, it is UNKNOWN what specific component of the SRS failed or malfunctioned. and this issue first appeared 2 moths after purchase but its been coming on and half i don't know how serious this is. This malfunction places my safety and the safety of passengers at risk because the airbags or other restraint features may not function properly in the event of a collision. The problem has not yet been confirmed or repaired by a dealer, and no inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives has been completed as of this report. The warning lamps and message appeared suddenly while driving, with no prior symptoms, noises, or performance issues. Vehicle remains available for inspection if requested.
I own a 2018 Honda Accord EX‑L (VIN#: [XXX]). Shortly after a service visit to a Honda dealer for unrelated maintenance (in Sep. 2024 with an estimated 50,000 miles), the dashboard began showing ‘Supplemental Restraint System Problem – See Dealer’. A dealer quoted $400+ to diagnose and replace what appears to be a common passenger airbag indicator sensor failure, a known issue reported by many 2018 Accord owners. I believe Honda should issue a recall due to the safety risk. I’m filing this as a VOQ complaint for ODI’s review and authorize NHTSA to share my identifying info with Honda if needed. Supporting Documentation and numerous examples of complaints from hundreds of Honda Accord owners relating to this problem: - Numerous drivers of 2018 Honda Accords have reported the identical warning (“Supplemental Restraint System Problem – See Dealer”) along with fault code B002013, intermittent dashboard behavior, and inability of dealers to resolve it consistently. - Honda’s 2024 Campaign 24‑050 identifies the seat weight sensor as directly causing SRS warnings and passenger airbag indicator failure - demonstrating this component is known to fail and trigger airbag system alert behavior, even if not yet applied to 2018 model year. - Independent coverage confirms the risk and design defect in seat sensors causing unintended SRS failures, underscoring the safety risk and Honda’s formal acknowledgment of the issue in later models. - Multiple complaints about post‑service warning lights that match this scenario (electrical system category), and public news coverage stating Honda is recalling vehicles due to faulty passenger seat sensors that may cause airbag or SRS failures. - 37 official complaints for the 2018 Accord, with no repair by dealer and failure left unresolved. Passenger side rear seatbelt does not click in or latch
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) and 23V158000 (SEAT BELTS); and the vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the contact was informed that parts were not yet available for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that unless the vehicle experienced a failure, the vehicle could continue to be driven. The contact stated that while driving in a parking lot and attempting to park the vehicle, the vehicle lost power steering functionality and the vehicle started shuddering. The contact pumped the accelerator pedal and the vehicle returned to normal operation. After the vehicle was parked and restarted, the vehicle resumed to normal. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving with his wife and a child occupant and attempting to make a left turn at an intersection, the failure recurred. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal several times and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the check engine, ABS, and TPMS warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.
I received a notice of recall with my car registration and I contact the Honda Dealer Future Honda of Sacramento. I went for the appointment for the on October 05, 2024 and was told that they did not have the parts.
During normal driving - clear weather conditions - the car will suddenly activate the forward collision braking. It will literally slam on the brakes and decrease the speed by 10-15 MPH. This happened as I was going down the drive of our neighborhood, I was at 45 MPH with no one in front of me or behind me (thankfully) and the car applied the brakes and activated the front collision warning. There is also an intermittent issue with my seatbelt. Specifically the drivers seat belt. I was witness to someone driving my car - he buckled his seat belt and it unlatched. He then buckled it again thinking he didn’t do it right - but it wouldn’t latch. This has happened to me before as well - but usually after the third try of buckling the seat belt it will work and so I thought nothing of it. Additionally, the windshield wipers do not go back to their original position after being in use.
I keep intermittently getting a Supplemental Restraint System error. I have been on forums with other vehicle owners getting the same error. The dealer says it is a bad airbag while others are saying it could be two other less expensive remedies they have encountered such as a faulty cutoff indicator that gets overheated and the solders come loose as well as a faulty seatbelt buckle assembly. This is not a constant issue, it is intermittent and feel if the airbag was faulty it would be a constant error.

Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, on various occasions, the seat belt sensor message appeared. The vehicle was taken to a dealer multiple times where the failure was not able to be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the failure was partly related to the recall. The dealer performed a seat belt repair however, the contact was informed that the recall repair could not be performed until late August 2024. The contact had to turn on the emergency lights for the vehicle to function properly; however, the vehicle would hesitate and jerk while starting or accelerating. The contact stated that while driving without the lights activated, after driving for a short time, the emergency lights would illuminate. The check engine, ABS, and seat belt failure lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 174,000. Parts distribution disconnect. Honda stated the vehicle is in working condition and there is no problem with it. and will not fix the recall.
Brakes: Every day for past two years, on every startup car states Brake system problem, anti-lock brake problem, and TPMS problem; with it having no actual problem with brake system and message disappearing after a few minutes of driving. SRS: Intermittent display of SRS light while driving reading: airbag system or seat belt tensioners have a problem. Usually appears after Passenger airbag light intermittently turning on and off with nothing in front passenger seat. SRS light on dash doesn’t come back on after restarting car. Issue did not appear until seat belt recall last year.
My vehicle I of several people I know suddenly appears on the screen the symbol of the seat belt I the airbags turn off I took it to the dealer I they told me that it doesn't have it. Nothing keeps appearing and Honda is not responsible for something that can take lives in an accident either
Supplemental Restraint System Problem.
The seat belt has been buckled but disconnects once I drive. It has trouble connecting when I get in car. I have to push it in and pull for it to connect. I asked Washington Honda about recall and they said none were issued. I've never spilled food in it as I rarely have food in car.
My car keeps indicating a supplemental restraint system issue then goes away I’m not sure what’s going on but I’ve seen several other complaints about this same issue with Honda.
Supplemental restraint system error appears on dash unit, at first intermittently and now at all times. I am wondering if this could be related to a recall on seatbelts which apparently does not apply to my VIN but does to other 2018 Honda Accords.
I had a recall on my seatbelt and after I did the recall now my airbag resistant light is coming on and I don’t think they’re going to look at it without charging me when it never came on until they done the seatbelt so I’m not sure if I got a defective part and they need to replace it or what but I don’t think I should have to pay for it since it was just fine till they done the recall
