Seat weight sensor failure resuling in the illumination of the SRS warning indicator
When setting something on my passenger seat such as a water bottle filled with water and a purse, the SRS light is triggered on the dashboard. After doing some research there was a safety recall for the passenger weight sensor on my vehicle model however my vin was not included.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? THE SRS LIGHT IS GOING OFF AND READING "SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER". How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? THE AIRBAGS ON MY PASSENGER SEAT Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? YES, THERE IS A RECALL ON THE EXACT ISSUE, BUT THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? IT WAS INSPECTED BY HONDA OF LINCOLN. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? YES. JANUARY 28, 2025, I GOT IN MY CAR AND THE SRS LIGHT WAS GOING OFF. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO BE SEEN BY HONDA OF LINCOLN, AND THEY ARE REPORTING THE SRS DEVICE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THOUGH THERE IS A OPEN RECALL. I AM BEING TOLD MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

I received A Safety Recall Notice in regards to replacing my seat weight sensor circuit board. I tried to contact Yonkers Honda Service Department on [XXX] and they refused to set me an appointment to fix this safety issue. The driver’s seat continues to move (keeps adjusting) while I’m driving
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE TRUNK OPENED INADVERTENTLY. THERE WERE SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAN FRANCISCO HONDA (1595 VAN NESS AVE, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94109, (415) 687-0174) AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V771000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BACK OVER PREVENTION, VISIBILITY/WIPER, VISIBILITY, EXTERIOR LIGHTING) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.
