The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that after driving during rainy weather at various speeds, the check engine and TPMS warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with water intrusion in the canister valve. The water was flushed, and the system was restarted; however, the parts were not available to replace the canister valve. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer due to the failure recurring; however, the parts for the repairs were not replaced. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed as needing further diagnostic tests and repairs. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V763000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 752.

My 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid began experiencing a noticeable loss of engine power and severe shaking while idling. The problem first appeared when I was parked with the engine running, and the car suddenly started vibrating strongly. Shortly after, the “Emissions System Problem” warning message appeared on the dashboard. A local Honda dealer suspected a malfunction in the fuel injector system, which may have led to improper fuel combustion, reduced acceleration, and overall unstable engine behavior. This issue could increase the risk of an accident, particularly when merging or accelerating in traffic, due to delayed throttle response. Many other CR-V Hybrid owners have reported similar symptoms online, pointing to a potential widespread defect in the fuel delivery system. Despite this, there is currently no official recall for the fuel injectors in this model. I am concerned that this issue, if left unresolved, could lead to engine damage or even pose a fire risk due to unregulated or incomplete fuel combustion. Given the number of reports and the potential danger, I respectfully urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue and consider initiating a recall to protect driver safety.

I want to announce that is going to be 78 DAYS on Monday 21st of this month! Since I discovered after the recall repair done at authorized Honda dealership on Jan the 15th. I'm a vehicle inspector and have documented and recorded on live video on the steering problem that this vehicle that we have owned on new conditions. Honda and even the arbitrator according to them I don't have enough evidence for this vehicle to be re-repaired again. On California lemon law anything that has been more than a month qualifies for a replacement or a refund. The problem is that the dealership states that is normal operation standards to them. I need a 3rd party inspection or an attorney that can represent, we have solid evidence that after the recall repair still has the same issue. I'm a nobody without help. Contacted BAR as well. I need someone that investigates deeply what's going on with Honda of America. This vehicle needs to be taken to a Lab and diagnosed. We're going to take it again Monday the 21 to diag job in Spreen Honda of Loma Linda. Please help!

While driving under normal conditions on a dry road (no snow or ice), the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of braking performance while in motion. The vehicle was traveling approximately 10–15 mph and approaching an intersection with a red traffic light. A warning message appeared stating: “Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer.” Immediately after this message, braking performance was significantly reduced. Multiple attempts to slow the vehicle using the brake pedal resulted in minimal deceleration. The stopping distance was much longer than expected for the speed and conditions. The vehicle only came to a stop after the brake pedal was pressed with full force. Shortly after the initial brake warning, multiple additional safety-related systems went offline, including collision avoidance and other braking-related driver assistance systems. Approximately five to six warning messages appeared, indicating a cascading failure of safety systems while the vehicle was still in motion. The driver was able to slowly maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road and park safely. No collision occurred. However, shortly before this incident, the vehicle had been driven on a highway. If the same failure had occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could have resulted in a serious crash or injury. The vehicle is relatively new (approximately two years old, low mileage) and has been routinely maintained. There were no prior warning signs before this event. The vehicle is currently available for inspection at a dealership. A preliminary dealer explanation suggested a possible low or discharged battery; however, the cause of the braking failure has not been clearly established. This incident involved loss of braking performance while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a significant safety risk.

The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions with a second vehicle in next lane slowing down. My 2024 Honda CRV Sport Touring Hybrid AWD has the very same engine and parts as the Canadian model. So far the Canadian version with the exact same equipment as well as the U.S. version has a poorly designed HEAD GASKET that have resulted in NUMEROUS engine failures with no warning. In CANADA the engines have been recalled for this safety concern and resulting catastrophic engine failure. My complaint is that since there are many drivers in the U.S. that have the EXACT same engine with the EXACT same problem deserve the SAME recall to correct this manufacturing defect that will result in an UNSAFE condition without repair.

Drivers side outside side mirror spontaneously cracked from top to bottom while parked in the cold weather. There was no impact or other damage to cause such a crack. It makes is difficult to see to change lanes.

The local dealer was contacted, where it was diagnosed and determined the failure was due to the brake pedal sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was called, but there was no response due to being closed. The failure mileage was approximately 51,500.

The contact stated that the power-reduced error message was displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle was driving abnormally sluggish and failed to exceed 18 MPH. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road and turned off. The contact waited for a while before restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a hybrid battery failure. The contact was informed that the hybrid battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure had started shortly after the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was relieved that the vehicle was repaired; however, the contact was fearful that the failure could recur. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. On 1/21/25 I had multiple warning lights appear while driving along the highway @ 60 mph. The error messaging included “transmission failure, loss of power, emissions control…”. I had not seen alerts prior to this incident, and was not aware of changes in performance other than a recent, minor, decrease in fuel efficiency. Fortunately, I was able to safely exit the freeway & park in a nearby shopping center. My vehicle was towed to the local dealer, Marin Honda. After a week of evaluation, and consulting with Honda America tech support, the dealer reports difficulty isolating the problem and determining appropriate repair. At this time a cracked piston has been identified, and the plan is for a technician to use a barescope to evaluate the cylinder for damage, and the potential need to replace the engine. I am concerned that multiple owners of this model & year have reported the same problem, including loss of power while traveling at high speed (see CRV Owners Club) Their vehicles were also determined to have cracked pistons, with and without cylinder damage. It has also been noted that when the fuel injector remains open it may be a contributing factor to a cracked piston. Could this be relevant to the current recall issued for the fuel pump on the 2024 CRV? Whatever the cause, the potential for catastrophic engine failure places drivers and their passengers, as well as other drivers, at great risk of a serious accident.

When starting the vehicle engine shakes and rattles, when motor is idling and charging the EV battery and also when going from EV to Gas and Gas to EV engine shakes and rattles. When accelerating the engine shakes and rattles. Engine feels sluggish and a loud ticking noise can be heard. Seems the engine is struggling and accelerating it feels the engine rocks back and forth. When transmission is changing gears I also feel the engine rock back and forth.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that the trunk was not designed with a safety barrier at the entry, causing a propane tank to roll out of the vehicle upon opening the trunk. The propane tank hit the ground, bounced and hit the contact's chin. The contact sustained temporary pain. The dealer was notified of the issue and informed the contact that it was a factory design flaw. The dealer advised the contact to purchase a trunk storage net to resolve the issue. The manufacturer was not contacted. The issue was not resolved.

October 10, 2024 at about 1200 hours, the entire dashboard display and the upper center console display unexpectedly went black with no visible readout after having drivin 1-1/2 hours on the highway. Pulling off the road, we were able to reset the brightness to maximum and just able to see the readout. This event continued to be repeated several times during the course of the day. We had less than 9000 miles on the odometer at the time. I have checked the fuses, battery, and battery connections-all are in order. This event again repeated itself two weeks later on our return trip. In addition, the fuel gage has failed to fully up date on the display after being reset at the pump. I'm concerned about the possibility of the computer being the problem. We have less than 12,000 miles on the CRV Hybrid. The danger to us and others is that we had no idea of our speed, fuel amount, safety warnings, turn signals, nor what other safeguards were not working. The car is available for inspection upon request. We felt that this safety issue was serious enough to report it nationally before taking it to the dealers, which we will now do along with the other safety recalls on it. At this time, it has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. Upon completing our first aforementioned long trip, we have not seen the electrical problem repeat within the short distance we drive. Possibly related, the Lane Departure Warning has been activated for no apparent reaason.
