Interior & seats
Reports naming seats, latches, locks, linkages and interior fittings.
From owner reports, verbatim
There was a recall for my 3rd row seat, my car sat at the dealer for 6 months due to it. They tell me they fixed the recall after 6 months I receive my car and my seats are not functioning. I believe the safety of my kids are at risk due to this. They have yet to take the vehicle back to fix the problem and it has been over 2 months now.
Seats still don't work after recall fix on 2nd and 3rd row. Front seats also do not work when moving 2nd row seat front to back front seat moved instead. Power train engine issues been in hyundai service 3 times diff services depts and still not fixed have not been able to drive car since mar due to these issues. Engine light on 3 power train warning codes on. When pushing gas car hesitates and almost completely stops on freeway or on only 2 way highway making it very unsafe to drive. Loos of power to ac and lights due to this issue!
Electrical
Reports naming the electrical system — wiring, battery, charging, control modules, infotainment and electrical accessories.
From owner reports, verbatim
The wireless charging spot is overheating and causing phones to be overheated as well. I had to turn off the wireless charging pad due to it being extremely hot to touch and causing my phone to also be extremely hot to touch. Concerned for device damage as well as a fire risk for the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that on five occasions, while stopped at a light with the Auto START/STOP system activated, the vehicle inadvertently turned off and shifted into park(P) independently. The contact stated that there was an unknown warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, and the brake pedal was firm; several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that on one occasion, while stopped, the Auto START/STOP system failed to activate and the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended; however, the engine was revving unexpectedly. There was a loud clunking sound, and the vehicle jerked and then accelerated as needed. The vehicle was taken to two dealers during the failures; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle remained with the second dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.
Driver assistance
Reports naming forward-collision avoidance, lane keeping, back-over prevention, cruise control and related electronic driver-assistance systems.
From owner reports, verbatim
INCIDENT: Pressed brakes but car accelerated. STORY: I reversed out of a parking spot, turning so I could go to the right in parking lot. Put the car in drive and proceeded driving veering right in the parking lot. I pressed brake within 5 seconds of that but the accelerated instead, so I released the brake, looked down to double check I wasn't losing my mind and confirmed, I was pushing the break when it accelerated, pressed it again but much lighter this time and it did accelerated again as I veered to the right where there were no cars parked. I parked, turned off the car and then restarted it. I was not able to recreate the incident but also, no idea why it happened and scary to think what would have happened if I was on the highway or busy road. There were no lights/alerts that showed up when it happened. I plant to take it to dealership to check. And I have read other reports of owners having the same issue with this car.
I first brought my vehicle to the Towson MD Hyundai Service Department, near my summer home, upon receiving a warning that the front sensor was not operating. I was advised that the issue will be covered under warranty. Imagine my surprise when I was advised that it would not be covered because the service team located documentation in the vehicle's file indicating that the sensor had been damaged while the new vehicle was being transported to or delivered to the Sarasota FL dealership where we purchased it. They said this documentation specifically chronicled the damage. I reported this to Hyunai's upper mgmt, was assigned a rep who promised to contact Sarasota on my behalf and work to resolve the issue between the two dealerships. After many weeks, she reported back that Sarasota denied that this damage had occurred because the notes/documentation Towson located could no longer be found in the system. But she assured me that they would continue working with the two dealerships to get to the bottom of what had occurred and she would get it covered. It took most of the summer, many calls from the assigned representative stating she was still trying to reach the various parties involved; very confusing as I have never had trouble reaching a service member or manager- and each time made me reiterate the issue, history, and assure that no collision had taken place. Ultimately I was informed Hyundai had determined the damage is not covered under warranty because of what they characterized as external damage, likely due to collision, Of course Iam stunned. The repair will cost approximately $2,000. I want to be unequivocally clear on this point: There has been no impact or visible damage to the front bumper verified by Towson to which she told me "Impact doesn't always show. I have read online about a number of these incidents. i feel Hyundai is clearly trying to cover an ongoing issue that they don't want to address. I am happy share my correspondence with you
Engine
Reports naming the engine itself — including stalling, misfires, oil consumption, cooling and internal engine components.

I am reporting a recurring safety issue with my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy involving severe shaking, sputtering, loss of acceleration/power, stalling, and abnormal drivetrain behavior. The first incident occurred at just under 10,000 miles after driving for approximately one hour. While traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle began shaking severely and lost significant acceleration/power. After exiting the highway and stopping, the vehicle shut off. When restarted, it continued shaking and would not accelerate normally. No warning lights appeared. The dealership reported multiple stored fault codes, including transmission-related codes. The codes were reset and the vehicle was returned to me. The same condition later occurred again after extended driving. The vehicle shook severely and lost acceleration, again without warning lights. After being turned off for approximately five minutes and restarted, the symptoms temporarily disappeared. The vehicle has since undergone multiple repair attempts. Hyundai/dealership technicians replaced the flywheel. After that repair, the vehicle developed new shaking/stuttering during startup and shutdown. The vehicle was returned again and a motor mount was repaired/replaced. Two days after receiving the vehicle back from the latest repair, it is now exhibiting another serious drivability issue and appears to remain in first gear or otherwise fails to shift normally. I have video of the severe shaking. A dealership technician also advised me that multiple other 2026 Palisades at that dealership were experiencing similar issues and Hyundai had not determined the underlying cause. I am concerned the vehicle may unexpectedly lose propulsion, stall, or fail to accelerate in traffic or at highway speeds. Multiple repair attempts have not resolved the safety concern. The system will not allow me to upload the videos I have, but you may contact me for them.
Powertrain (other)
Powertrain reports that are not specifically the engine or transmission — driveshafts, axles, transfer cases and differentials.

Brakes
Reports naming service brakes, the antilock braking system, brake hoses, master cylinders or the parking brake.
From owner reports, verbatim
My "Vehicle Health" reports all systems good on the BlueLink App-- however, when I open "diagnostics history", it shows 8 repeated reports under DTC: C183987 (SAFETY - Anti-lock Braking System). There is also a reports for a DTC C186B87 (ELECTRICAL- Lane Departure Warning System), and a C188087 (null). So there are 10 total reports of this in my history between 11/7/2025 to 9/18/2026. The reports for the anti-lock breaks were reviewed by the dealership and advised by Hyundais tech line that they were just glitches in computer system. However, they have continued. And on top of that, I just filed a separate report about my car accelerating when I pressed the brake (thankfully it happened in a parking lot)-- no idea if its related but its all fishy. Thus I will be going back for another review by dealership "service" team. Initially the first few reports did have an ABS light that showed up on my screen which is what prompted me to look into the app for issue only to see it said everything was fine, until I looked deeper at the historical reports. But lately there has been no ABS light showing up on my dash but the reports are still coming in.

Fuel system
Reports naming fuel storage or delivery — tanks, pumps, lines, injectors and fuel leaks.
From owner reports, verbatim
We lease a 2026 Palisade with only 4k miles. Several weeks ago I was going through a toll plaza, car would not accelerate after slowing down, as if it was in neutral. All of a sudden it kicked into gear and car lunged forward. 10 min later at a traffic light car failed to accelerate after a complete stop. Press the accelerator sluggish response, then kicked back into gear. Very Scary. I pulled over and notified the dealer. Then set an appoint. Dealer did a diagnostic, found no issues, could not replicate problem on test drive . Everything was fine a few weeks. My son took the car. Had the same exact issue with vehicle not accelerating. Then kicked into gear really hard and vibrating. This was scary for him because he was in a parking lot. Luckily there was no accident as a result. However, this time an error code (check engine light) came on and the Hyundai app showed a DTC CODE- P001600 (powertrain / engine). Car was immediately taken to dealer on May 28th 2026. It is now Jun 11th. Still no time frame for fix. The THINK it a software issue and Hyundai is still "working" on a solution.
While driving on my 2026 Palisade Calligraphy over last 6 months I lost all throttle/ gas response to engine on 12 separate occasions. The 3rd incident nearly resulted in serious crash in 55mph traffic. Went to dealer next day on 11/15 ref# 41788829 service found no codes, reset system and recommended a flight recorder to help diagnose. Filed with NHTSA on 12/3 after next incident ref # 11702738. Requested flight recorder multiple times with dealer and Hyundai case manager and after multiple visits, diagnostic drives and component replacement on 1/20 and 2/23 the dead throttle continued. On 4/7 I was finally issued recorder and captured 3 incidents of the problem that could not exist within 2 days. Dealer acknowledged problem and says they can not fix without help from Hyundai engineers. Hyundai will not buy back and tell me to go back to dealer for resolution. Dealer claims to have submitted all relevant info to Hyundai but will not produce requested paperwork to me for most of visits (illegal? ). I have been assigned 3 separate case managers who try to assign new case #42539227 and separate it from initial ref # 41788829 while denying buyback with documentation they refuse to share. I am driving an unsafe and dangerous suv with 3 clearly documented Hyundai flight recorder incidents and acknowledged safety issue.

Seat belts
Reports naming seat belts, buckles, retractors and pretensioners.
From owner reports, verbatim
My vehicle is subject to Manufacturer Recall 297/NHTSA Recall 26V169. My dashboard is indicating that the third row driver seat is buckled when it is not. Also, when the seat belt is actually buckled, it will sometimes indicate that it is not. This is a safety issue as I cannot tell whether the seat belt is actually buckled or not. Additionally, the seat will not fold because it thinks a person is sitting in the seat. I have taken my vehicle for to Great Lakes Hyundai of Dublin twice (May 6 and April 16th) to complete the recall. Both times they did not complete the recall as they did not have the parts, said they could not order them, and did not know exactly when they would receive them.
I own a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Hybrid, VIN [XXX] le is included in two safety recalls: 1.Second- and third-row power-folding seats may fail to detect a person or object, creating a risk of trapping or crushing a child. 2.[Second recall issue—e.g., seat sensor/seatbelt defect] may prevent proper seat operation or restraint, further endangering passengers. I transport a toddler daily, and have another little one on the way. While these recalls are unresolved, I cannot safely use the vehicle. No accident or injury has occurred, but the defects pose a significant risk of child injury or death. I am filing this complaint to document these serious safety risks and request that the NHTSA ensure Hyundai addresses both defects promptly. Visibility
Reports naming windshields, glass, wipers, defrosters and mirrors.
From owner reports, verbatim
We purchased a New 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited. We drove two other palisades (XRT and SEL). We did not have any issues with the windshield. We purchased a Limited trim that was not on the lot, but in a different city with the same company. We did not drive a Limited or Calligraphy since we drove two other palisades. When I drove off the lot with our new Palisade I noticed the vision through the windshield didn't seem right (like a fishbowl when looking right and cars in front at a certain distants). We thought, let's give it a week or two, since we many not be use to the new SUV. After less than two weeks we both said something isn't right with the windshield, still was distorted (fishbowl) type of look when driving. The dealship looked at it and said, this is how Heads Up Displays (HUD) are. They called Hyundai, Hyundai said the same thing. We do not have a HUD in our limited. The dealership said, yes you have a HUD on your Limited. After the dealership did more research they found out we do not have the Heads Up Display. Since the windshield contains the HUD and Acoustic for Limited and Calligraphy we do not have an option do replace the windshield with a lower line e.g. SEL. We are stuck with driving a car that could cause an acident due to not having a clear picture of vehicles in front or when turning right. We don't have no options but to drive a hazad SUV.
Vehicle was purchased new in June 2026. Within approximately six weeks of ownership, I am on my third windshield. Two windshields have fractured after minor impacts from small pebbles or road debris. Incident 1 occurred on or about June 11, 2026. The impact was not audible and was not noticed at the time it occurred. The damage was discovered later as a spider crack approximately the size of a coin, originating from a single point of impact. The crack subsequently propagated well beyond the initial impact point. The windshield was replaced with OEM glass. Incident 2 occurred on July 21, 2026. Light road debris struck the windshield during normal driving, again producing an initial spider crack roughly the size of a coin at the point of impact. This crack likewise spread beyond the initial damage. The windshield again requires replacement. In both cases the initiating impact was minor - in the first instance, not forceful enough to be heard from inside the vehicle - yet each produced a spider fracture that propagated rather than remaining localized. Two windshield failures from low-energy debris strikes in six weeks is not consistent with normal glass performance. The windshield is a structural component of the vehicle and serves as the mounting point for the forward-facing ADAS camera. Glass that fractures and propagates this readily from routine road debris presents an unreasonable safety risk: it obstructs the driver's forward view, compromises occupant retention in a rollover or frontal collision, and requires repeated ADAS recalibration. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred. This failure pattern appears consistent with numerous existing NHTSA complaints regarding Hyundai Palisade windshields across multiple model years.

Tires & wheels
Reports naming tires, wheels, hubs, or the tire-pressure monitoring system.
From owner reports, verbatim
With 2100 miles on the Hyundai Palasade Calligraphy Hybrid, we were driving on a well established dirt and gravel road when we experienced a loud pop or bang. We saw nothing in the road ahead in the form of a pot hole or protruding rock, etc. A minute later, a low tire pressure warning light came on. The tire went flat. Upon close inspection there was a cut like slit in the tire just below the bead line of the wheel rim. A look back on the road traveled, produced no clear obstruction that might have caused this. Our assessment of this is a sidewall blowout. This new vehicle comes with no spare tire. Only a pump and container of sealant. Installation of this failed to restore the tire for obvious reasons. This Pirelli 265 45R21 Scorpion MS tire is rare and not in stock anywhere. We had to tow our vehicle 50 miles to a Hyundai dealer who told us we had to wait for them to order a tire. We have spent close to $400.00 in Expenses and still did not pay for a tire yet. Searching the web reveals similar problems with this tire. This has resulted in a negative customer experience with the vehicle and Hyundai alike.
I have a 2026 Hyundai palisade- at the time of the incident, the car has 7,500 or so miles. I had a slow leak in one of the tires and took it to a tire repair shop- he pointed that not one, but all four tires had sidewalk bubbles in them, with some tires having more than one bubble. He said it was highly unusual for that to occur and suggested reaching out to Pirelli and/or the dealer for warranty service on them. I reached out to Pirelli and they advised me to take it to the dealer. The dealer claimed it was a Pirelli issue and I’d need to contact them directly and were unable to service the tires. The person at the dealer also said it was unusual and mentioned that others with the same tires had the same issue. I’m let scrambling my head trying to figure all this out.

Body & structure
Reports naming the vehicle structure, frame, body panels, doors, hood and trim.
From owner reports, verbatim
We are currently on a road trip. Fortunately we were in a 55mph zone and not going faster. While driving on the highway, the hood released from the latch and popped open. Fortunately the secondary latch caught it and we were able to pull over safely. I can’t imagine if we were going faster if the secondary latch would’ve withheld it. Very scary incident
The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the anti-pinch protection feature was inoperative and failed to identify that the seat was occupied. The contact’s grandson accidentally hit an unknown button and was squished by the seat. The failure caused emotional distress to her grandson. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: (AWAITING1); Manufacturer Recall Number: 296 (Structure, Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer, however, a dealer was contacted and confirmed that the remedy was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 800.

Exterior lighting
Reports naming headlights, tail lights, turn signals and other exterior lighting.
From owner reports, verbatim
2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, VIN [XXX] , purchased March 6, 2026 with under 2,200 miles at time of incident. SAFETY INCIDENT: While operating under adaptive cruise control at highway speed, the vehicle experienced sudden unintended acceleration followed by severely delayed braking response. At least three trailing vehicles were forced into emergency evasive action to avoid a multi-vehicle collision. Family members were present. This event represents a direct and immediate threat to the safety of vehicle occupants and the public. The root cause has not been definitively identified or resolved. The authorized dealership confirmed CAN-Bus resistance irregularities — 160 ohms versus the designed 120-ohm specification — governing acceleration, braking, and all driver assist systems. Prior symptoms included flickering interior lighting. An initial module replacement failed. Repair has escalated to full wiring harness replacement with no parts availability and no confirmed timeline. The safety event remains undiagnosed and unresolved. The vehicle carries three simultaneous active safety recalls — 293, 296, and 297 — all involving electrical and wiring systems on the Calligraphy trim exclusively. None have permanent remedies. The vehicle has been in dealer custody since March 21, 2026 and is available for inspection. Hyundai Motor America active case — No. XXX. This vehicle is not safe to operate.
