We have had issues with tires not wearing equally and tears on the inner tire/s shortly after replacing. This has happened twice so far. This has lead to air loss, severe vibration, and pulling while driving. Most recently, both back tires were losing air with one back tire having a structural issue on the inner portion of the tire making it unsafe to drive. We had just put on new tires in 1/2024 and had to replace one of those before this issue because of a tear on the inner portion. Both back tires were replaced and rotated. Severe vibration and pulling occurred. We took it in to have balancing and an alignment done only to find out that all 4 rims are bent to varying degrees on the inner lip that meets with the tire. All 4 tires were wobbling significantly during the service to balance resulting in the inability to balance the tires. As there hasn’t been any occurrence that would have caused all 4 rims to bend in the exact same place, and reading about the defects of the coating on the rims as well as other wheel related issues, we felt it necessary to file a complaint. Living in a state where there is salt put on the roads as well as salt in the snow itself, peeling and premature wear to the rims due to the lack of a safe and sufficient coating, exposes the metal to the elements and excessive salt during the winter months. This in turn weakens the metal making it susceptible to bend and sustain damage it would not otherwise sustain. We now have to replace all 4 rims to eliminate the vibration and alignment issues.

i've had my 2015 hyundai sonata now for A year. i took it to the hyundai place to have recalls on the security fixed. and told them about the valve cover gasket leaking. they said they fixed it. however every since i took it to the dealership i have had nothing but problems. my car makes a rattling noise when i accelerate, i smell a strong gas smell occasionally at random times but always while driving. my driver brake light has never worked, my driver headlight keeps blowing, my airbag light is now coming on randomly, my car has a bag vibration while going down the road, when i let off the gas it stops and i have replaced tires and still it won't go away no matter what i have done to fix it , and there has been many times after i return home the smell of something burning as off something is on fire is coming from my car. i have even been in panick thinking something today home was on fire but the smell was coming from my car. and others have even stated they smelled it as well. i've already taken out two loans to fix the valve cover gasket and the fuel pump filter, i can not keep taking out loans to fix problems that appears to be problems from the manufacturer and same problems others have had due to malfunctioning issues. i have children that ride in my car, i would hate for someone to get hurt or worse bc of manufacturing problems. then hyundai would have a bigger problem on their hands.

VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH HANDS-FREE CALLING AND VOICE ACCESS TO CALLING LOCATED ON STEERING WHEEL. THESE FUNCTIONS DO NOT WORK UNLESS THE RADIO IS FIRST TURNED ON. IN ADDITION, CALLS CANNOT BE MADE FROM THE CONSOLE BY PRESSING THE PHONE BUTTON UNLESS THE RADIO IS ACTIVATED FIRST - NO ACTIONS OCCUR WHEN FIRST PRESSING THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS OR THE CONSOLE PHONE BUTTON, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT CONSTITUTES A DISTRACTION FOR THE DRIVE IN ANY EMERGENCY SITUATION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THERE IS NO CHANGE IN THIS FUNCTION FOR A STATIONARY VEHICLE. INCOMING CALLS ARE AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVED TO THE CONSOLE OR STEERING WHEEL. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS AFFECTS SEVERAL MODEL YEARS, *TR

6 ALIGNMENTS WITH TIRE BALANCING, UNTOLD TIRE BALANCING ON OTHER OCCASIONS. THE CAR VIBRATES AT HIGH SPEEDS, MY FIRST SET OF TIRES WORE OUT THROUGH TO THE STEEL BELTS ON THE INSIDE AT 32000 MILES WITH A A GOOD 1/4 IN OF THE TREAD ON THE OUTSIDE LEFT ON THE FRONT TWO TIRES. I'VE COMPLAINED THE FIRST WEEK I HAD THE CAR AND MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE. NOT HUNG VIVIBLE HAS BEEN FOUND. THE TIRE ALIGNMENTS AND BALANCING TO THE NEW TIRES DIDN'T TOUCH THE VIBRATION. MY FEAR IS IT'S A CONTROL ARM OR OTHER FRONT END SUSPENSION ISSUE OR FAILURE THAT'S NOT VISIBLE.

2 WEEKS AGO, I FOUND IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE A BAUBLE AND I TOOK THE TIRE TO THE DISCOUNT TIRE TO BE CHECKED. THE TIRE SPECIALIST DISCOVERED OTHER PROBLEMS ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. THE TIRES ARE SEVERELY CUPPED THE INSIDE EDGE. HE RECOMMENDS ME TO CHECK WITH THE SERVICE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, HE NEVER EVER EXPERIENCED THAT TYPE OF PROBLEM IN THE PAST. DEALERSHIP SERVICE WORLD CAR HYUNDAI TOOK THE CAR FOR ENTIRE DAY AND TOLD ME THAT THEY MIGHT THINK IT NEEDS TO BE DONE THE ALIGNMENT. I TOTALLY REFUSED TO DO IT BECAUSE THE ALIGNMENT IS PERFECTLY FINE, MY STEERING WHEEL NOT TURNING IN ANY DIRECTION AND IS NOT SHAKING WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS IS WHAT I FOUND ON FORUM! IN THE SNOW, MY HYUNDAI SONATA WILL DRIVE FINE UNTIL TURNING. DURING TURNING, EVEN WITH MINIMAL SNOW, MY BRAKES LOCK UP AND MY CAR SLIDES SLOWLY BUT AT THAT POINT I AM UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING, USUALLY MAKING ME HIT A CURB. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS COSTING ME $2200. I HAVE HAD TWO CARS BEFORE MY HYUNDAI SONATA AND HAVEN'T HAD ISSUES WITH SUCH A PROBLEM. THE MECHANIC SCRATCHES HIS HEAD IN CONFUSION AS TO HOW ALMOST THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN IN SUCH A SMALL TIME FRAME. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, I BELIEVE SOMETHING WITH TRACTION CONTROL OR BRAKING IS WRONG. HAD I BEEN A WORSE DRIVER THE DAMAGES COULD BE WORSE.

SINCE LEASING THE VEHICLE ON AUGUST 1 I CONSTANTLY COMPLAINED ABOUT THE GAS MILEAGE WHICH HYUNDAI INDICATED WOULD BE RESOLVED ON THE FOLLOWING OIL CHANGE. THE OIL CHANGE BARELY EFFECTED THE MILEAGE EFFICIENCY WHICH LEADS TO THE SECOND ISSUE WHEN THE GAS GAUGE SHOWS BELOW A QUARTER ON THE TANK THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK AND IS ALSO AFFECTED IN HIGH MOUNTAIN AREAS. WHEN I EXPLAINED THESE ISSUES TO HYUNDAI THEY SAID THEY NEVER HEARD OF IT AND WOULD SENT TO THE COMPANY FOR FURTHER REVIEW IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE A CAR WITH THE GAS GAUGE THAT DOES NOT SHOW EXACT AMOUNTS FROM FILL UP TO EMPTY MAKES THIS CAR A SAFETY RISK THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE NOT TO MENTION THE CAR IS RUNNING HORRIBLE WHICH SUGGEST OTHER SAFETY FEATURES ARE NOT WORKING ACCURATELY. THE DEALERS LOOK OVER ONLY SUGGESTED OTHER UNDERLYING ISSUES EXIST WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IS A CLEAR SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
