The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that on three occasions while driving at 65 MPH, the automatic emergency braking system engaged erroneously. While driving at 45 MPH, the failure recurred, but the vehicle resumed normal operation. The automatic emergency braking message illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V316000 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified, a case was opened, and the contact was informed that the dealer would have to duplicate the failure for repair coverage. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

While driving my 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid at approximately 20-25 mph approaching a red light, a sudden and total loss of brake power-assist occurred. Upon applying the brakes, the pedal became instantly rigid and rock-hard. Despite pumping the pedal multiple times and applying heavy manual foot pressure, the vehicle failed to stop, resulting in a low-speed rear-end collision with a stationary car stopped at the traffic light. No dashboard warning lights or malfunction indicators illuminated during or immediately following the event. After the collision, the vehicle's ignition was turned off and then restarted. Following this power cycle, normal braking functionality temporarily returned. The low-speed impact displaced an ultrasonic sensor in the front bumper. This intermittent electronic brake failure poses a catastrophic safety hazard to pedestrians and occupants if it recurs at higher speeds

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V893000 (Trailer Hitches); and the contact became aware that there was no wiring harness on the vehicle after recall repair. The dealer informed the contact that removing the wiring harness and installing a dust cap was included in the recall remedy as provided by the manufacturer. The contact stated that the vehicle was not safe to haul a trailer because the brake lights and turn signals would be inoperable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V893000 (Trailer Hitches). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the recall remedy consisted of removing the trailer hitch wiring harness. The contact declined the repair because the vehicle had been purchased specifically for the towing capability. The contact stated that the manufacturer had failed to provide an adequate fix under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and confirmed the information provided by the dealer. The contact had not experienced a failure.

On March 6th, 2026, I spent the day running errands in normal driving conditions and it created a situation that did not charge the battery or switch to gasoline. Several error lights displayed seconds before the car died. The hazard lights failed within 15 minutes of waiting for a tow truck. The dealership service department charged the battery and gave me advice to run the car at least 30 minutes everyday even if runs only in the garage. They told me that it was user error because I don't need to drive a half hour per day. I am still attempting to determine the real issue and have it addressed.
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, while attempting to enter the vehicle, the key fob failed to function as intended. The contact was unable to unlock the doors to the vehicle. The contact noticed that the battery was completely drained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be started daily to prevent the battery from draining. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The contact stated that because of the persistent failure, the contact was afraid to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 900.

Exterior lighting

Automatic headlight system causes the vehicle headlights to turn on and off during daylight conditions. The LCD display in the dashboard also dims to the point that the information presented cannot be read. This typically happens on bright, sunny days with a clear sky. Vehicle has been to the dealership in excess of seven times where they've made multiple attempts to repair it. The light sensor behind the windshield has been replaced. The body control module has been replaced. The technician also tried to make modifications to the light sensor, but the problem persists. There are a number of other instances of this exact issue involving Hyundai Tucsons, Santa Fe. and Santa Cruz vehicles shown on the NHTSA site, and also when searching other sites online. Dealer technician has repeatedly documented that the problem exists. Dealer tech reported that the Tech at the Hyundai helpline suggested that the auto headlight feature not be used as a resolution. While not a solution under any conditions, even with auto headlight feature turned to off, the dashboard displays continue to dim during the day. The flashing headlights represent a serious safety issue as when following another vehicle, that driver may misinterpret the flashing headlight problem as an aggressive gesture and trigger a road rage type response. The call taker I spoke with at Hyundai when I opened a customer service case said that he personally had that very issue with another driver due to flashing headlights.

While driving, car suddenly slowed and would not accelerate as normal with accelerator depressed. A dashboard warning "check hybrid system" appeared and acceleration was unable to power car up hill. Driver forced to pull over on shoulder. After turning off and turning on vehicle, issue seemed to temporarily resolve itself. Dealer was unable to identify any faults in the car 3 days after this incident, and returned car to owner. A week later, the same issue occurred. Car would not accelerate after stop sign. When pressing accelerator, car coasted forward a a few mph. Turning off vehicle and turning on again resulted in normal performance resuming.

While driving at a freeway speed of 70mph, my panoramic sunroof basically exploded raining glass everywhere. It sounded like a shotgun blast. There was zero indication of an outside object hitting it. The damage was so extensive it would have to have taken a fairly large object to cause this. It also seemed to have blown the glass outward, which indicates to me that there was some faulty component in the sunroof itself. I've read and watched other people who've had similar incidents
There are bolts that are too long in the space for a spare tire that prevents storing a spare tire in the well.

Seat belts

My grandchild just went from a car seat to a booster seat. The back seatbelt buckle is so recessed that you cannot buckle it without 20 minutes of fighting with it! This is a major problem because a child could not get themselves buckled. And it takes an adult 20 minutes to try and buckle the shoulder belt into The seat buckle because it’s so recessed in the backseat. I looked on the Internet to see if there was a way to loosen the belts or extend them from the back and there is nothing so I went to a Hyundai Tucson forum and I see there have been many complaints About the recessed seat buckle not being accessible. This is a major concern for anyone transporting children and their grand grandchildren. I’ve already complained to Hyundai about the car randomly shutting off. Hyundai needs to put out a fix for this or provide Hyundai owners with some kind of extension for that buckle. I also understand that taking it into the dealership didn’t help, because they couldn’t buckle it either.

Hesitation upon accelerating from a stopped position. When pulling out from a stop into a busy intersection the vehicle hesitates for several seconds. I have almost been broadsided when attempting to pull out onto a busier roadway. The vehicle feels as though it is stalled, then suddenly lunges. Apparently this is a known feature of the Hyundai hybrid after reading that it is the top complaint. There are no codes or warning lights that appear. I feel this is a safety issue. A car should move when you put your foot on the accelerator and not just sit there for several seconds. Please, please have Hyundai resolve this issue. I have had my car to the dealer 3 times for this issue without resolution.

There was no warning before this event. Then my lane assist stopped me from going over the line into traffic. A few minutes later the same thing happened again. Suspension

My 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid has been returned to the dealership on 3/20/26 and 4/10/26 to replace failed rear shocks and are now scheduled for replacement on 4/27/26 under warranty. I was told by Matthews Hyundai dealership that the part may have been defective the first time but after having the shocks fail again it is clearly a defect in design. The bouncing and ride is dangerous. Rear shock failure is a major safety hazard because it severely compromises vehicle stability, drastically reducing control during braking, cornering, and emergency maneuvers. It leads to increased braking distances, excessive rear-end bouncing, poor handling, and accelerated wear on other suspension components, significantly increasing the risk of accidents. I do not want to have an accident due to a faulty part.
