The defect: CERTAIN 2005 AND 2006 MY IC FE SCHOOL AND COMMERCIAL BUSES MANUFACTURED FROM SEPTEMBER 4, 2003, THROUGH FEBRUARY 5, 2005. WHEN OPEN, THE ENGINE COVER LID IS UNSECURED.
The risk: THE LID MAY CLOSE ABRUPTLY IF IT IS BUMPED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY.
The remedy: IC WILL NOTIFY ITS OWNERS AND WILL INSTALL A LATCH AND CABLE ASSEMBLY TO SECURE THE ENGINE COVER LID WHILE IT IS IN THE OPEN POSITION FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 22, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 260-461-1924.

The defect: CERTAIN 2004-2006 MY IC CORPORATION CE, FE, AND RE SCHOOL BUSES MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 12, 2003, THROUGH MARCH 2, 2005, EQUIPPED WITH CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS. THE DIAMETER LATCH ATTACHMENT BARS EXCEED THE DIAMETER REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 225, CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS, WHICH MAY MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO USE WITH FUTURE CAR SEAT ATTACHMENTS. IN ADDITION, SOME OF THE LATCH ATTACHMENTS ARE LOCATED TOO FAR FORWARD OF THE SEAT BACK.
The risk: NOT ATTACHING THE CHILD SEAT PROPERLY MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH. ALSO, THE INAPPROPRIATE PLACEMENT OF THE BRACKETS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY TO A PASSENGER NOT SEATED IN A CAR SEAT.
The remedy: IC CORPORATION WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS AND (1) THE BRACKETS WILL BE REMOVED AND REPLACED BY A SPECIAL BELT SYSTEM AND (2) THE SEAT FRAME WILL BE REPLACED BY A FRAME WITH A NEW SEAT ATTACHMENT BRACKET. THESE REPAIRS WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 19, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 260-461-1924.

The defect: CERTAIN 2003-2006 MY IC CE, FE, AND RE SCHOOL BUSES AND RE COMMERCIAL BUSES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN FEBRUARY 4, 2003, AND MARCH 1, 2005, AND EQUIPPED WITH WEBASTO COOLANT HEATERS. THE STAINLESS STEEL WALLS OF THE BURNER TUBES INCORPORATED INTO WEBASTO COOLANT HEATERS MAY BE MADE OF A MATERIAL THAT IS NOT WITHIN SPECIFICATION AND MAY FAIL PREMATURELY.
The risk: SHOULD THE BURNER TUBE FAIL, THE COOLANT HEATER COULD OVERHEAT, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.
The remedy: IC WILL NOTIFY ITS OWNERS AND REPLACE THE BURNER TUBES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 20, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 260-461-1924.

THERE ARE TWO CHINESE MANUFACTURERS WHO HAVE OBTAINED DOT CERTIFICATION IN CHINA, FROM HANGZHOU WORLD ELECTRICAL TECHNICAL SERVICE CO., LTD (I BELIEVE). BOTH MODELS ARE POCKET BIKES THAT HAVE MANY SEVERE SAFETY VIOLATIONS. THE FIRST MANUFACTURES WMI IS L4S & L4B. THERE IMPORTER IS NEWSTAR SCOOTERS IN CA. THIS MODEL DOES NOT EVEN HAVE AN ODOMETER, LEGAL HEADLIGHT, DIRECTIONAL OR SAE HARDWARE TO NAME A FEW. THE MODEL THEY USED HAS A HORRIBLE HISTORY OF THE SWINGARM TWISTING AFTER 10 HOURS OF USE. THE OTHER MANUFACTURERS AND THEIR DISTRIBUTOR IS SONIC SCOOTERS. THIS MODEL HAS MANY OF THE SAME VIOLATIONS, BUT THE REAR CHAIN ADJUSTERS SLIP OUT OF PLACE AND CAUSE THE REAR WHEEL TO COCK AND LOCK UP AGAINST THE SWINGARM. MANY TIMES THE SPROCKET IS TORN FROM THE WHEEL. BOTH OF THESE MODELS HAVE SO MANY VIOLATIONS WITH DOT AND 49 CFR IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY. THERE IS NO WAY EITHER MODEL SHOULD HAVE EVER OBTAINED DOT CERTIFICATION & IF TESTED IN USA NEVER WOULD OF PASSED. I PROMISE YOU THESE MODELS ARE A MAJOR ACCIDENT JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN. I KNOW BOTH MODELS JUST RECENTLY ARRIVED FOR THERE DISTRIBUTORS AND I BELIEVE ARE STILL AT PORT IN LONG BEACH. PLEASE HAVE THESE BIKES INSPECTED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED!!! I AM SICK OF THESE COMPLETE IDIOTS THAT DO NOT KNOW THE REGULATIONS IMPORTING THIS GARBAGE. THIS MATTER REQUIRES ATTENTION AS I HAVE PICTURES OF WHAT HAPPENS TO THESE WANNA BE MOTORCYCLES. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THESE MODELS BEFORE SOME KID GETS KILLED. THE SONIC SCOOTER MODEL IS A Z-55 FRON WANGYE POWER AND THE NEWSTAR SCOOTER MODEL IS XYQH-815B FROM XINGYUE GROUP. *JB
