SUSPENSION

Indian Motorcycle found that some 2022 and 2023 Chief models can exhibit a noise in the front of the motorcycle when operating slowly on rough or bumpy road conditions. The sound can be difficult to properly diagnose as it may resemble a metallic clicking in the front headlight area. The sound is coming from the rebound check valve within the front suspension and occurs when switching between compression and rebound. To address this, Indian Motorcycle has released this Service Advisory with instructions to install a new fork service kit that has an updated rebound check valve to correct the noise. This Service Advisory replaces ISA-21-01.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Indian Motorcycle has determined that on MY23 Chief, Chief Bobber, Super Chief, and Sport Chief the speedometer may not display the correct vehicle speed until the engine speed first exceeds 1200 RPM while in gear following the initial key cycle. To address this concern, Indian Motorcycle has released this Service Advisory to instruct dealers to reflash affected vehicles with an updated Engine Control Module (ECM) Calibration.

INDIAN MOTORCYCLE RIDE COMMAND 1.2.1 SOFTWARE OVERVIEW (4” DISPLAYS). The new Ride Command software includes a new feature and many great usability improvements. The software comes standard on all model year 2023 Chief, Super Chief and FTR models with the 4” digital round display. It will be sent out as an over-the-air update on connected bikes (on 3/6/23) and can also be downloaded from the Ride Command website on any model year 2022 Chief or Super Chief with 4” digital round display.
